I know vocals aren't important in doom as much as the riffing but I really liked that unison chanting type thing they did and it pumped me up. The vocals were more like black metal screeching and the bassist who was doing the low part of the singing seemed unable to actually do it all that well maybe because her register wasn't that low. I don't know, they aren't a bad band, and they ripped maybe I just wasn't feeling it as much as I was hoping for.

Either way the no one was really moving either which I guess I really like most pits and getting really into and if I'm not getting into I like when people are around me getting into since it's easier to loosen up. Maybe I just don't like doom metal and shit as much as I used to or something. I really like Pete of bongripper solo set as Bottomed, it was really fun.

Just an anecdote on a doom show in Chicago so hopefully it doesn't offend!

Renata (from Samothrace) isn't their normal bassist; she's playing for them on this tour because their main guy had to stay in the UK for work or something.

Yeah that's what I thought instantly. I hadn't listened to their newest album so I wasn't sure if they had a change of lineup since then but her tone and playing fit perfectly but I guess I really like the vibe of the vocals for the band more than anything else. Either way it was fun to get see a band that I used to think was one of my favorites for a rare US tour.

On the subject of Conan, sort of, kind of, but not really, I was thinking of picking up Deluxe Fuzz Throne somewhere down the track.
I'm finding my Dunwich One Knob sounds crushing, but is a little too loose in the bottom end and I loose some definition with the AOR. Mostly when I want to play a bit faster (I know faster, right? What the fuck?).
Anyone got the fuzz throne? Does it get a little clearer with the extra tone controls?
I was also thinking of changing shit up and getting a LSTR.
Thoughts, opinions?
For the record I've put the Black Forest at the end of my chain to blow shit up as a boost.
Those who saw my BILF entry will know what I mean.
My other thought was go back to using the BF for high gain and get a Doom Bloom with clean blend.
All of those options are too tasty and I don't know which to go for.
WWPD?

New Pedal Day is the best kind of day. Had to pay 60 euro at the post office for it though. Think customs thought it was a bomb, so I got the privilege of paying for an X-ray and inspection or some shit.

Traded a fuzz/wah for it. Now the board looks kinda empty. Think I need some more modulation and a nice analog delay or something. Perhaps a noise gate to tame the HM-2 a bit and get some sharper stops.

That's my amps footswitch man. I'll be replacing it with a looper if I ever sell the Hughes & Kettner. For now stomping on the dirty channel and HM-2 at the same time works out. If I switch to a looper rig I'll throw the HM-2 and a gate in a loop together and wire it so it switches channels at the same time.

I'm really happy with my Jr pedalboard - simpler, smaller, lighter, 10 pedals is enough variety - BUT if I was going to build up a bigger board again I'd get these two things:

1. A Disaster Area loop switcher with midi - maybe a custom one because I like the buttons to be further apart.

2. One of these cool Molten Voltage screens that you can program to display names for your presets. Fun.
