I know I'm a few pages late, but I can't recommend the Ditto x2 enough, just enough ease of use and functionality to make it a standout. The extra things are neat, but where it shines is in the simplicity. Went on a looper quest a while back and for a while was thinking a boomerang was the only answer. original ditto and a couple others I tried all had one thing or another that was a deal breaker. Got one of these and have been on other obsessions ever since. The playback volume is a nice touch for those who want to do weird shit and be able to fade out.

Grats on the sweet acquisitions. I'm looking forward to hearing the Marshal.

i think those are ceramic magnets?...I've always hated the way ceramic magnets react to gain and dirt pedals. there's harsh high end to them...that's why I prefer the lower output alnico's.

i have to admit, my LP custom is now one of the best sounding guitars i have, since i put in the Burstbucker pro's. Highly recommend them man.

i guess you could also drop the pickup height as well.

Thanks for the thoughts - it's pretty consistent with what nearly everyone has been saying. I started looking at them because a family member wanted to buy me a pedal for Christmas, but generally keeps stuff < $100, so it had me looking at the small Ditto and Jamman. With all this x2 talk, I ended up asking them for a tuner, since I could use one and can't bring myself to spend my dollars for one

I actually don't know if they are or not. The same pedals don't have the harshness when going into the Earth, but that may be because it's a darker amp.

It definitely has me looking at pickups

Those stock gibson pickups are fairly hot but pretty treble heavy, especially with gain. Switch the pickups and you should be alright.

Am I the only one not at all into the Crown of Horns? I get why it works for some folks, but it just don't get my pants all snug like other.

I haven't been into anything I've heard of it yet, but I don't have anything bad to say about it. Different strokes and all.

It seems like it covers a lot of the same ground as most of BAT's other offerings.

Haven't posted in a while but been skimming every now and then, Hope all is well with everyone. I have a ditto x2 and it is a great pedal. Works easily and the half speed/reverse/stop second button is awesome. I usually leave it on stop so I can just stomp it real quick rather than holding down the button as you do on a normal ditto. But being able to flip it over to reverse or half speed, record something, and then flip it back to normal and have the recorded bit playing in half speed or reverse is pretty awesome.

Half-speed AND reverse is where it's at! Works great for drones (which is what I typically use the looper for).

Pro tip: double-tapping the secondary function button does the other effect. So if you have that button set up to reverse, a double-tap will half-speed your loop...

I was wondering if any of you guys have a go to condenser mic that you like for recording the big doomy stuff? I've been using a 2-mic technique with a Sennheiser MD421 up close and the a Rode NT1a about 6' back and it works out pretty good but the Rode seems like the weak link. I was thinking about sending it to that Michael Joly guy that mods them or just getting a new condenser. I don't have U87 or 47 money but I'd be willing to go up to a grand or so for something to get the job done.
