thats a pretty crazy thing you bought man...what are you gonna do with it?? can you program some doom riffs into it?

i watched that new video of the BAT pedal...sounded pretty good...not sure if its for me, but waiting for the full demo to hear more.

also that SG with the lightning...i remember that. At the time i thought it was bullshit...but then saw that video and was amazed, as it was something i never knew could happen. Axx, if you do that to your guitar and it works...you realise you will be a man in high demand

The Carillon was actually free. Although my friend who currently has it's wife has taken a fancy to it. So once fixed they may get it back, we'll see how it pans out, If the broken stuff is limited to the amp, I am pretty sire I can fix it. The Carillon side of it is uncharted waters. I do have some rad friends (ILD included) who may be able to help if it gets weird.

Bassist in Terrasone, Paul, is the guy doing the electrical burning. He and his conspirator tim, enjoy some rad mad science stuff. Tim had a visual eq made with a speaker, a tube with strategically cut holes in it, and a propane tank running when we played a party at his house. I kept staring at it the whole set. Watching the riffs become flame in real time was wild. These two are also responsible for Flux bus. Rad dudes. Here's the first experiment on a guitar body.

He's going to use some zpoxy to seal and level the channels burned in it, should look rad as hell when done. I'll check it out at practice next week, but it looks like there is sealer on there. Cool if it will work regardless if its bare wood.

That is awesome. I would sample/record-with-the-intent-to-sample each note of the bell thing if you can get a keyboard hooked up to it.

Anyone ever seen these? My "tech" who insisted upon replacing my parts with originals and can't keep the amp itself functioning had it in his shop.

Never seen this particular one, but I've played a couple in shops around town. Dug the way they sounded. Looked into it once, and as far as I can tell, they were a short lived company outta Phoenix. Ya see em around here at pawn shops and on craigslist every now and then.

Speaking of which... Will be in Phoenix as of Sunday afternoon. Outside from general hang time with the Southwest Doom Room Crew, anything I should check out? I have a work provided food budget and a rental car but will be working 9 hour days everyday except Sunday and Monday (11/1 and 11/2). Will be hitting up the Windhand show on 11/2. Music shops that are dope? Sweet food spots or breweries or bars or whatever.

Drink at the Bikini Lounge, eat Mexican food at El Comedor Guadalajara. There's a shop called Guitar Tree that has a bunch of weird stuff, Bizarre has a lot of cool shit, but the dudes are 80s butt rock assholes. The Guitar Gallery is cool. I'll PM you my number if ya have any questions or wanna kick it with whiskey and I. Sundays are jam dayz.

Bullshit show tonight was bullshit.

If you know for a fact that I normally haul 600w worth of amps with 6 cabs for my band... Don't book me and then ask me to turn down once I get there.
Already had a heads up that they want to keep the volume lower, so I half the entire set up.
This is where they wanted me to place my volume. I just packed up my shit and left. waste of my time.

Bummer dude. I always assume hostile venues are a thing of the past, but maybe I'm just lucky?

thing is I've played there twice, once just last month. Guess someone felt they wanted to show they had big dick or something since this time it was supposed to be outside. fuck them fuck that.

I played a place in Pensacola once. Can't remember the name of the place...Big Easy or some shit like that, it was a lounge at a hotel. Second song into our set this lady comes up and asks us to turn down. We do and she walks to my amp and turns it down even more and says that it shouldn't be louder than that. I hit a chord and was talking to her over it. We turned up way past what we were at before and played one more song and then packed up our shit and hit out towards the next show. The guy who booked us dipped out before we ever played so we didn't get paid either.

Those type shows suck so I hope you get asked to play there again and you give them the full 600 watts of hatred.

We've been fortunate in not ever being asked to turn down. There have been a couple venues that were just shitty, but never that. I'd probably handle it like SLK and just leave.

I know I'm way late to the party, but no one suggested to samzadgan that they check out http://www.loop-master.com which blows my mind.

He could build you a pedal that will switch a TB loop with dirts to a seperate clean pedal loop AND changes the channel on your amp in one button press. You should email him. Pretty sure he could also make that an ABY as well or at the very least have stereo outs to go into two amps. Dude's a genius with that utility type stuff. Get on it.

And fuck venues who ask you to turn down, but drill fuck venues who ask you to turn down and then don't pay. That's all kinds of bullshit.

Just saw Blood Incantation two days in a row this weekend. Not quite doom, but an amazing scifi death metal band.
