Anyone have any experience with the Seymour Duncan Black Winters?
I'd ideally like to get a blk/tri stone giant for my bridge, but the guy takes weeks/months to reply. I understand he's busy, but I'm looking to get a new pickup for my bridge and soon.

Still haven't laid hands on my Concert Bass (Skully was kind enough to pick it up for me but I've been so busy I haven't had time to snag it) but considering flipping it and picking up a Roadmaster Super Festival...

Love Black Winters. I was worried that they'd sound like Burzum recorded on a tape deck but they are really balanced. Handles fuzz well. Massive low end and clarity. I replaced it with a BLK/TRI Torch. They're similar but the Torch has a bit more natural tone than the Black Winter. Both are articulate as fuck and sound great clean or slammed with intense dirt. Not trying to spam but I have a BW in the spam thread but honestly, its worth the wait for a BLK/TRI pickup. Mike is busy but he's very accommodating.

Also, played with Serial Hawk last night and I gotta say. They have the absolute best tone ever. Great dudes too. Hopefully we'll do some more shows with them when they come back through again.

Ok, I'll wait for Mike. I do want to get my hands on the Stone Giant he told me about a month ago. Thanks for the heads up.

in other news, i just discovered that something in our van punctured my grill cloth and tore the shit out of one of my speakers. in a fucking cab that i just spent $140 on getting speakers reconed like two months ago. i don't even really want the cab or the fucking speakers, i just need it to be functioning for the time being so i can try and save up some money to get something i like better, which is hard as fuck for me cause i seem to be allergic to paychecks. i just need it to work for now and then be in decent enough shape to sell for some actual money when the time comes.

in even more news, cause i apparently have a lot to say today, everyone here should listen to Bolzer! listen to them as much as possible and set up a shrine in your living room to honor them. this band rules so hard. it's probably one of the most interesting and original metal bands i've heard in a long time, on top of just rocking so hard. not really doom, although they have their moments. kind of a raw death metal meets black metal with an awesome wall of sound approach to the guitars. and really killer riffs. it's a two piece, which i normally hate, but i can't stop listening. dude plays a ten string guitar, which he does really well. i love it. and they're playing portland tonight! i'm so stoked. will report back. if they're hitting your town with what's left of this tour, you should go. they're swiss, so who knows when you'll get another chance, if you live in america.

Yeah, Nick completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering. He's been going full bore preparing for his defense, moving, designing tons of new PCB layouts. Dude is an machine, glad to see so much hard work coming to fruition.

Ah ok, sweet.
That is still amazing.
I just figured since he's been hitched recently he was going to start custom building a family unit.
I make assumptions sometimes.
It's not a good thing.
