Yeah. This was my reaction as well. I thought it would be cool, but I was wrong, at least for doomy distortion. It works as a boost, but when there is any amount of gain in the circuit, the hiss is incredible. My metalzone is quieter than this thing on the same power supply (no joke).

i've listened to a bunch of videos...not tried it first hand...and it didnt do much for me.

I'm completely guessing here, and I may be way off...but I would say that if it was a BAT pedal it may be slightly different as it tailored for a certain taste in tone; whereas being its Digitech (DOD) it has to have a mass market appeal, so its voiced that way.

I've been in talks with Mike from BLK/TRI. He's suggesting the upcoming Stone Giants.

I'm curious too. I don't play doom necessarily but I'm chasing doom tones for my weird post punk stuff.

I like the Boneshaker. I think it depends on what kind of sound you're going for. I'm not sure if it'll keep the Quantum Mystic off of my board (might try stacking them, though I have never had any luck stacking gain), but it's got a certain clarity and graininess to it that pairs well with hot pickups. My strat with a Lace Wino bridge p/u through the Boneshaker was GNARLY. If you are going for woolly tone, I don't think this is what you want. But since I've been slowly going for a cleaner, clearer tone, I've gotten some good sounds with Boneshaker -> V4 (though I think it'd probably pair particularly well with something that has a gritty clean-ish channel like a Marshall or Peavey) into my Orange cabs.

That said, yeah, it is a rather noisy pedal. Gonna hit Mark up about it and see if there's anything to be done.

what's nice: getting lots of interest on cabs.

What's not as nice: a third are from the European union asking about pricing and shipping. :/

Dude, there were polar dinosaurs that could withstand the winter conditions.
That is fucking rad.

But yeah, we got a bum deal for geography.
At least we don't have to worry about the natural disasters caused by living on the edges of plates.

Yeah I think you guys got a higher attractiveness ratio going on down there, I noticed that last time I was down.
Although with the the heat up here lately, Brisbane has become the capital of shorts that are probably not legally considered clothing.
With this comes the good and the bad, but I gotta say it has been mostly very, very good.

Misogyny, over and out.

Thank ya. I figure when I get back in town I can focus a bit more on what would be the best option if there is one.

Also.... love heat. I should visit and stay.
