Speaking of Weber, has anyone seen the Tone Cult series speakers? They are doing one with Mike from BLK/TRI.

Now that would be interesting.

I'm getting some BLK TRI pickups for my baritone build. AND I wanna get a Dominion cab with a grey wolf and silver wolf to run my Traynor into.

Then I'm gonna play nothing but Jimmy Buffet covers.

I'm pretty interested in the BLKTRI Webers. But just because I'll get some sweet credibility.

Hey -- I know we've got a couple RedBear owners on the forums. Anybody use a footswitch for the Sensitivity button? Gonna pickup a one button switch tomorrow to test it out, see if it works.

So I have a shameful secret to reveal... After receiving my replacement Ultimate Drive from Brendan, I think I prefer it to the Boneshaker.

That's not to say it's not as good, but there are a couple of things I can't seem to get it to do, and it may be just how the pedal is:

It's got plenty of gain, and really I don't need much but it's not very compressed. And for some reason I miss that. Especially on palm mutes, the DOD can sound a bit flubby.
On the other hand this makes it great for chords, as it has a very open quality like there is some secret clean blend going on that makes everything that isn't chugging sound like magic.
The parametric EQ is very useful as I sit perfectly in the mix at practice, but I feel like I could maybe do just as well with a regular stand alone EQ instead.

What do I do?? Should I reevaluate my life and everything I stand for?!

You should let me borrow it and see how you feel without it.

I dunno if it's just me and legbear, but does anybody else just think the boneshaker is....not good?? I've spent a couple occasions messing with it at the music store and couldn't find a single decent tone in the box.

Haven't tried it, but I think the demos have sounded ok -- if not something I'd go for personally.

I'm getting a Black Knight Sattelote for the neck (mostly clean-ish tones and synthy fuzz) and a Crone for the bridge for lo fi sounding stuff and grind. I'm super excited about them. Mike is a super nice dude and has been really cool about answering questions while I get the rest of the guitar sorted out. The body is almost finished and paid for and then I'll finally order my pickups.

Whats the difference between the torch and torch ii?

At first I really liked the lack of compression, until I realized that it determines how your palm mutes work. Distorting the EQ section is pretty fun. There's some weird clanky and aggressive tones to be had with just clean boosting and extreme EQ settings.

Not sure exacty. There isn't much on the II on his website. Whenever I emailed him about new pickups I described what I liked and disliked about my current pickups he recommended them so that is what I went with. I want to get a Black Knight Satellite for my Tele and maybe a Ghost Coil the neck in my LP Custom.
