I'd have to agree with that, at some point I had a whole collection here (Black Forest, LSTR, Pharaoh, Revelation, Ritual) to try out but they definitely share a lot of DNA with eachother soundwise.

My favourite of those is definitely the Pharaoh, it is the most versatile and it has the most punchy and ballsy sound I'd say (also when run at unity gain).
The Revelation and Ritual are very similar to the Pharaoh only less versatile and they just don't sound and feel quite as good as the Pharaoh in my opinion.
As for the LSTR it was easily my least favourite, it sounds much weaker than the other ones (more like a standard crappy EHX Muff) and the Black Forest is the other odd one out of the group in the sense that the gain or drive on it has more grain to it.

I've only tried the LSTR and Pharaoh. They're certainly similar but the Pharaoh is 1000x better. Crazy low end and super versatile, the dirty OD tones are sick and stacking it's insane.

What I meant to say was they usually all work well on both bass and guitar.
Sorry, I'd never say that you could get any BAT pedal and think it was going to do the same as any other.

The one trait they do all have in common is output volume.
Whatever Mark does in the output stage you can guarantee it's going to punish your amp.

They don't call it the Amp Smashers Union for nothing.

I have to say on the BAT chat, I've tried most of them, and the QM was my favourite dirt for a long time...but after a clear out to pedals, the one I kept is the Ritual...that has to be my favourite of the bunch...it just kills at any volume...thick, dirty as fuck and just enough high end and clarity that the others didn't really have for me. But in general, BAT is awesome...

I'd probably switch out the SD1 for an OD2R, but this board is truly sick!!!

SD-1 is not the first choice, it was a cheap option to have a boost. I probably gonna mod it or buy a new OD but I think I'll pledge on the Ulule pedal project of a friend (muff)

That makes more sense than how I interpreted it!

Watchya doing with your LS-2?
I just bought one to send different FX to different channels of my amp. Fuzz, flange, Analog Delay and Reverb into the dirty channel and then that + 5 other pedals into a cleaner channel. It's in the exact same position as yours happens to be in so I was just wondering if you use it for a similar purpose, especially considering it doesn't look like you are using it as an FX loop.

If I remember correctly, he has the Procession reverb in the loop to boost it since there's a volume drop when it's 100% wet.

That was when I had the v1. I sold it and got the v2 who has a volume trim pot inside the pedal.
Here it's simply an AB/box or used as clean boost. I'll put it at the front of the board to have an instrument switcher (guitar/synth).

ok.. here is the final stage of my guerrilla gigging [small venues with other bands and outside and anything where I need to have my rig up and running in 3 minutes] board - super happy, everything worked perfect last night, all my sounds worked. Sure it's not as flexible as the board with all the moogs but the barebones-ness is really comforting.

Nerd factor -
Tuner >
loop 1 Sobatt > Katana Sound
Loop 2 Moog
Loop 3 Delay > Phaser > Trem
Comp > Comp

So what changes do I need to still do for ULTIMATE PERFECTION?
get a new case/board made cause I hate pulling my board out of a bad/case
Maybe get a 3 loop loper made but with the size of a 4 loop loop master so there is more foot room between the switches
get a 2 to 1 a/b switch so I can switch from bass guitar to electric upright
maybe get a voodoo power instead of the onespots I'm running under there now…
cut up a piece or old tire and glue it to the boss for more grip and badassness

totally ugly but that's clever using tape to keep knobs in place.
