If you're coming up here to record there's a place up at Mt. Nebo that would be also quite rad, although extra hassle.
I heard the guys that ran the Foundry moved shop out to Dayboro as well, but I'm not sure if they're operational or what the go is there.
Earthless will most likely play at Tym's.
While I'm at work on Monday afternoon.

Spent 25$ to see electric wizard in Hollywood...
Cheap before you consider the drive from phoenix, 2 nights in a bed and breakfast on the beach in santa monica and my ability to find the most expensive places to eat a steak known to man

Quite a few 'doom' bands are plagued by The Doom Problem but they've got it real bad when it comes to the recorded output (they're more interesting live on stage). In case you don't know what I'm talking about, I mean to say they're big, they're loud, they're heavy, they got tone BUT, they just don't rock. I WANNA ROCK
You're not alone. It seems just about everybody wants a rock to wind a piece of doom around.
I'll see myself out.

Dropping in to say I had a fucking gold plated titties jam session with the drummer from the local band CFA and his friend last night. Threw down some Kyuss/Fu Manchu hybrid type riffs and it was fucking awesome. Hands down the most fun & productive jam session I've had since Flux. Planning on doing it again next week. I could see this going somewhere!
That's awesome Tony- Reno's really a great drummer and great dude. Tell him I said "ROSEWOOD"

Received and installed those Lace Finger Burners and they sound fucking excellent! I was afraid I would lose mids and top end clarity but these fucking things did not disappoint. Stoked to finally find a set of HB's that work for me. Also, kinda hard to tell unless you're up close but the burnt chrome covers look pretty fucking sweet.

Almost every current doom band is boring to me. esp if it's stoner or has clean vocals.
it doesn't need dynamics, doesn't even need harsh vocals. I just want the tone overall to be super nasty and crushing.
like a 'newer' doom band... BUNKUR from Germany. slow all the time like along the lines of Corrupted. single song albums at 60mins in length. but it works cause it evolves and the pacing is spot on.
Pretty much every band that people talk about nowadays that's considered doom and it's vintage older bands... I just haven't liked or found boring. And it doesn't matter if it's live or recording it's equally boring.
Like thinking the only recent doom output that i've liked and looking forward to is whiskey's Daughters of Zion

Although I fail to see what I've done wrong the video is not showing up for me here. If that's the case for any of you I suppose you can copy and paste that link.
