Please contribute. I'm going to spend a lot of the holidays getting to know this behemoth of a pedal.

Oh, those of us not on the digital multifx box train are becoming endangered!
Nevermind...I'm joining the club too...my friend gave me my Korg Toneworks back because "It doesn't sound good"...
Then I said, "But it has ring mod? That make everything better."
but I got my first ring mod back...
It hasn't moved from the backseat of my truck...

My very first effect pedal was a KORG ToneWorks AX30G. I spent hours and hours and hours in my late youth to explore the world of various effects with this machine which is still capable of producing some very nice sounds.

it started out innocent enough for me, just wanted to play with that timefactor's time stretch glitchyness with loops....somehow it just sorta snowballed out of control

course i never thought i'd bother with recording digital either. so much new, much wow

I'm just giving you a hard time UG...
sound is sound...waves move matter...don't matter where it comes from...
Pepe: yea, I saved up for so long to get my AX1000g (almost 15 years ago I guess) just for the ring mod! I thought I was being frugal...you know, spending more on one effect than a bunch didn't make sense to me haha...but it turned out to be a blast! I love that thing (which is why I gladly took it back. I gave it to him when I couldn't afford to take him to dinner or get him a gift for watching my dog back in the old days)...it taught me a ton about effects and served me well as an all in one noise box after I went to my big tube amp! Yup, glad to have the first pedal I ever paid for back (somebody gave me a bass grunge before this).

I flipped is because it wasn't choppy enough, before finding out Joel can make it choppier.

I miss it more than even my goatkeeper.

That's a bold statement.

If the Goatkeeper had a better depth curve and 8-steps I would have never let go.

well, it certainly comes down to personal preference. i've always relied on my old digitech 2101 for the most part whenever i've wanted to go with digital fx. never really been blown away with the sound of the strymon/eventide pedals i've tried, but there are some neat tricks in those boxes that i'm looking forward to exploring.

Oh, I know that presonal preference is a part of it, but just saying that I once sound leaves the speakers it is sound haha...
Meaning it's what you do with it in a lot of ways and how you use them. But if the end result is what you want, then more power to ya (and who cares what made it?). Most of my choices come down to work flow and intuitive questions...menus, secret functions and stuff aren't as commanding of my attention as dedicated knobs...haha
Be glad to see some UG vids of the otherside! haha

yeah that's always been kinda downside of working in digital for me as well, of course being able to hopefully have more control over parameters while writing your own algorithms is cool and all...but mostly i'd just assume grab a couple pedals and hook them up with a couple cables and be done with it haha.

It felt (to me) that everything past 10-11:00 was just different degrees of chop.

I couldn't do anything other than destroying my signal. I know, I know, wrong forum for that. While I understand that chippychoppy trem is the bread and butter of the GK, i just wish it was more versatile (trem sound wise) considering it's gargantuan size. I'm pretty sure it's the biggest pedal I've ever had on my board.
I never did get to do the EHX 8-step and Gravitas thing I was planning...
