Rad. Are the Melvins playing as a four piece?

Best lineup ever.

Very cool. Never seen them as Big Belvins but I bet it's killer.

Melvins in that format is orgasmic.

Had a doom bloom, would definitely get another one.
Or a v2 Algal.
Or a sonic shroom.
Or a suneater.
I need another fuzzhugger...

Anyway, sometimes I wish that, when you pull into that trendy inner suburban coffee shop, where all the yuppie mums and trust fund hipster girls go, you know the one, where they give you the weird looks, but you go there anyway because you need a decent caffeine hit? Well sometimes I wish that as you were making the decision as to whether or not to drink it there or go sit in the creepy rape park across the road, and you look up at the sky, filled with grey blankets of cloud and evidence of an incoming cold front that persists despite the change of winter into spring, and you ponder how this bleakness is going to affect your day, because the weather is relevant to you, that these assholes could get blasted with a shrill and unforgiving wall of harsh black metal and grinding doom as you turn to leave with your takeaway mocha.
To sit in the rape park.
Because it's more pleasant there than it is here.
Just so that they could understand for a second how intolerable they are, despite their importance to a nation's struggling retail economy.
The irony being that this is yet another factor in the equation that sum totals their awful and insipid nature.

On a much lighter note, I got new all terrains on the Jimny yesterday and I'm chewing at the bit to get into the mud.

Trey, Andy from PGS does a pretty sweet Algal Bloom demo.

I'm seriously considering a Mr. Black Deluxe Plus.

Has anyone played one?

Best for sure. Pinkus can play like a mf'er, but that Big Buisness/Melvins quartet was the best I've seen them.

Algal bloom is also great! I have one that doesn't get used but it'd be a great stand alone sweet sounding fuzz, was very smooth in my setup. It didn't defeat the Pharaoh, but that's just for what I am currently doing. I'm not selling it, that's for sure. Personally I' really like to get my mits on a Doom Bloom. Now that I think of it, I really should talk to Tom about a custom boxed "Death Blossom" (Death Blossom is something we did when IED'd or receiving fire from an unknown area. Not really proud of the tactic but it's a rad ass name.)

The Magick fuzz gives me horrendous gas on a regular basis. I kind of need one.

Didn't realize that the Bloom was a muff variant, sounded pretty different in clips I've heard, but I've only listened to a few. The Doom Bloom is very rad, but all of my fuzz right now is designed specifically for the heavies, so having something different would be a good thing. That is a rad fucking name.

Sounds awesome. Not as huge-sounding as Pharaoh/other muffs but such a fantastic, versatile textural tool and can still get quite heavy.

PELLIOTT!

suburban coffee shop

I've never had any Fuzzhugger, which seems like a horrible tone crime. I want a suneater based on name alone.

Suburban coffee shops are generally terrible places. I just stand there and judge everyone harshly and get out as quickly as possible. Mostly I just marvel at the number of adults who pull up in expensive German sedans and don't appear to have jobs.

DIdn't realize that - I'll need to give that a watch.

Never played one, but I want one. Hard.

Definitely interested in everyone's input. I've been looking at a Bloom for a while. Leaning toward the bass bloom b/c of the blend option but also considering the doom bloom.
We play in drop c so that's a factor too...I am always looking for clarity.

How about asking Tom to build you a custom Doom Bloom with a blend control. I was thinking of that myself. I'm sure he would be into it if he isn't too busy. Though these days he sounds busier than a one armed paperboy.

Trey, I had an Algal bloom once. It reminded me a lot of the Black Forest IIRC. I mean it'd get really woofy and muff like, but the starve knob and lower gain settings got into BF territory. I wouldn't use one by itself for the heavies (it sounds good, I just like the Pharaoh a shit ton more for that) but it stacks nicely with other fuzz. I only did one short demo video comparing the Pharaoh and Algal Bloom and didn't tweak any knobs but you can see how it stacks. I should have put it first in line because it stacks better with everything else that way. Maybe someone could do a better comparison of the two.

I have a Deluxe Plus and it rules. Crazy nice pumpin' trem and the reverb is only a fraction less sweet than the Super Moon. You may be aware but Jack also has a new pedal coming called The Ambience which is a modulated delay with reverb. Early clips are delightful.

I will use the rest of this post to say how much I enjoy being in Infinite Flux. The music rules and everybody in this band can enjoy themselves in any situation which is even more important. Plus playing bass all the time after seven years of never playing bass has just been a fucking blast.
