Yeah, I really need to look into that. I thought I was going to shit my pants the first time it let go.

Blasting apes is on the agenda at some point. I need a muff in my life though.

Fuck strap locks. Just go to the hardware store and spent 10 cents on two washers big enough to hold your strap on. I have done this with every guitar I have had for the last 15 years and I haven't had one fail me yet. Spend the rest of the money you would have wasted on strap locks on something cool and useful like a Hustler and a patch cable.

Duders!

I got a Warmoth neck for my Esquire and I finally got it all together. Its pretty much the same neck as the one I took off my Jazzmaster except that it is 22 fret and a different contour and locking Sperzel tuners. Can someone with esperience with Warmoth necks tell me if the truss rods all need adjusting? I've had it on for a day to see if the neck was gonna flex under the string tension and it looks like it is gonna need adjusting. The string height jumps pretty high around the 7th fret.

Noted. Also lol at you and print pornography.

And fuck yeah on the Esquire neck. What's the plan with that snazzy neck you had on there though?

I've built a couple of Teles with Warmoth necks and bodies. Yes, I've had to make truss adjustments (I use Ernie Ball baritones with a big .072). And I've also had shim the neck for the best possible action. If you haven't done that before, it's super easy to do.

I am so happy about this Flux thing! AW is 'on hiatus'. The singer quit. Which is okay because he was a prickly little malcontent that I was going to fire anyway. The drummer, Steve, and I are like Run DMC: TOGETHER FOREVER. We have a different bass player (Oni wanted to pick up a guitar and front his own band which is this here) and are writing/have written some of the best tunes yet. If we can find the absolute correctest dude for singing and lead guitar playing we'll keep the name and truck on. If not then I'll sing, for better or for worse. Probably worse but I don't care. If we do that I think a name change might be mandatory because it'd be too different. I almost like the latter idea better but AW had plenty of 'buzz' which we worked real hard for so we'll keep it if it feels kosher.

I hear the second album is likely out in December. We have to do some final tweaks on two songs and then it's in the hands of STB. Third press of the first record is due in October.

Printed porn is what I grew up on. That sounded entirely fucked up but you know what I mean. It reminds me of before kids when I had a stack of them and Musicians Friend catalogs on the shitter. Best poops reading materials. I put the neck back on the Jazzmaster. The plan was to sell it, but playing it again I really do like it. I just hate the fucking bridge, so it will most likely be sold or traded at GC for some decent PA cabs along with the PRS.

this! Washers are the best. Unscrew the straqp buttons and bring one to the store. You want a washer that will fit over the smaller side, but not the outer side. Works best and works forever.

We're beyond stoked to have D! Getting Sean Booth for a while really spoiled us. Then Paul Casper stepping in as interim bass has been so cool, but wasn't ever supposed to be a long term solution. Getting D on board has really put my mind at ease on the matter. He's crushing it a practice, and is going to blow some minds when the 1st comes around. I've realized that above and beyond musicianship, getting the right kind of person involved is key to the health of a band. Case in point above in D's comments. Really have enjoyed the vibe in the room with Darren. relaxed, comfortable and fun, but also getting shit done!

Heres some Flux from the recent bock party our friends in The Sun Giants throw. Vocs are fucked till the first song is almost over but most of the set sounds passable.

Halcyon through porno mags, I can dig it.

Would one of those fancy jazzmaster bridges fix it?

this is a great idea i never thought about...the only down side is you have to keep the strap on that guitar...i usually just do the Grolsch beer rubber washers; they are bastards to put on sometimes depening on the strap button, but once their on they are pretty damn tight...plus...Drink Beer... :thumb:
