Hi Ive just found this place so thought id introduce myself

I play bass mainly 6 strings now been playing for about 6 years. I mainly play metal specifically melodic death and death metal. My band are supporting Fleshgod Apocalypse and Swallow the Sun in Nottingham soon.

As i said i mainly play six strings both fetted and fretless but have normal basses too:
ACG Recurve single cut 6
Schechter studio 6 string fretless
WQarwick Fortress 5
Alembic Epic 4
Fretted and fretless Jazz copies
other bits here and there

I use a Warwick Quad VI head or AN Ampeg SVP preamp with an ADA poweramp Through an EBS classic 4x10

Pedals wise ive been through a bunch just now i am using a board of: Mojohand Cream pie, Zoom ultra fuzz and Boss Hyper fuzz (in a loop with blend) a Bogdon Polish Love, 80s Aria flanger, Copilot Android and a BBE compressor. I love fuzz in a way that most people say is not normal.

Well that's me i guess.

Mostly film, a couple of PS3 games, the odd TV show and a couple of commercials. I used to work post out of NYC.
I don't use pedals for that work however, its all in Pro Tools with plugins.

Damn, that's gotta be nice. But you need to demo the Improbability Drive you have there. Really. [/jealous]

hey, i'm jake. i play bass in a southeast texas based rock band called we were wolves. i've been playing guitar for 17 years, and i just quit smoking and decided to spend the saved money on building a fuzz library. that and making donations to get my friend, richard handley, a hyperbaric chamber so he can get out of his crutches. find me on facebook (jake hooker, in beaumont, tx), and i'll direct you to a way to help richard, if you wanna.

my "crucial fuzz" tattoo was designed by kris crucial and myself. kris branded me with it at gil montie's world famous tattoomania, here in beaumont, tx, where we listen to the monsters all the time.

i love fuzz!

Hey all,
I was searching for some new fuzz discussion sites. This place seems pretty cool so here goes.

I've been playing the guitar since I was about 14. In my younger years I was mostly into heavy metal/hard rock. Now, as I've grown older I've mellowed out somewhat, but I still like the heavy stuff.

I used to be one of those guys that swore by amp distortion only. It was fun for a while. After a few years of being stuck in a rut there had to be some changes. So I did what I thought I'd never do. I bought a fuzz pedal.
That was the beginning of a serious addiction with acquiring dirt stomps.
What an adventure it's been. It certainly made playing the guitar fun again. So many flavours to choose from.

As far as gear is concerned, I play through the following:

Guitars: Guilld S-100 RI,Gibson SG Classic.

Dirt: D*A*M - Meathead & Sonic Titan (Black & Gold MH incoming), Skreddy - Mayo, Ernie & Zero, MJM London Fuzz (Ge.).

Delay/Reverb - Malekko E600D & Spring Chicken.

Amp: Peavey Ultra 1x12 combo.  Soon to be replaced with an Orange Rockerverb50 w/ 2x12 cab. :thumb:

Anyhow, that's all I've got for now. Glad to be a part of this forum.

hey hey.
havent posted here yet and it seems like a good time.

my name is ben, i live in iowa.

i have been interested in guitar for about..9 years, been playing for closer to 7ish - off and on. its a love hate thing for me. i have stopped playing for months (even a year) at a time but i always get drawn back.

ive fairly recently slid into painting effect pedals of some of you may know, so im hoping things keep going with that. i also hope to build a couple of my own to sell hopefully over the next few months if i can get enough information. of course i know that takes time but its something i aspire to do.

i have interests in : writing/performing (although i havent for awhile) music. designing, painting - i was heavily into tattooing for awhile, i have designed shirts for some local bands.. i love diy everything. i have done some screen printing and things like that. i love to solder, idk why but i just love soldering in general. i love learning about gear and i love playing with it of course.

i have a girlfriend of.. 5 years? and that seems to be going well obviously.

i signed up because of one of toms drawings - so those who are first post haters - consider me proof that people may come for the free stuff and stay for.. the people? the friendlyness... the lack of super douche bags. you get the idea.

i have grown to prefer this forum over others (of the probably.. 5 or so im signed up to)

oh. heres something interesting...fun (depressing) fact. - i have not one fuzz pedal... notta one. heh.

hopefully i can get a couple soon! :stitch:

Hey everyone,

My name is Elgee Aka Soda, Aka Ellie, Aka "My Bass Player", Aka Sprite, Aka Dr. Pepper, Aka Mister E., etc. etc....

I play bass for the West Indian Folk Dance Company and compose my own pieces. I'm almost strictly a bassist, but I play pretty much everything, so I dabble into other things every once in a while.

I've come to love me some fx. Helping me write songs, giving me inspiration, and so on. Wonderful little devices.

Recently, I've found a special closeness for fuzz. I don't know what it is, but it brings out a different side in me...

A side I really like.

Today when badgering MudFuzz about where he'd been, he told me about this place... Wonderful isn't it? Ironic, isn't it?

Fortunately for me, I'm a cheap basstard, so when I saw the pedal give-away, of course I was hooked.

Sooo, welcome your newest n00b, Elgee

Hi

I'm Jim from North Wales in the UK, I'm obsessed with music, B movies, fuzz and reverb!

Played guitar for about 15 years, in a few bands but nothing too serious. Found this board after picking up a Devi Ever shoegazer, I'm pretty much doomed now though as I've found a UK shop that does next day delivery, bought an eye of god and a cherry pop pretty much straight after! Hello bankruptcy.

Fave bands: Mogwai, The Fall, My Bloody Valentine, Melvins, Slayer, Red House Painters, Spacemen 3, Spectrum . . . .
Gear: Jazzmaster / SG into an Orange via an embarassing amount of effects.

Had a quick read around and everyone seems really nice, just don't tempt me into anymore purchases as i'm easily led.
