I'm missing something here.
You could have got a Timefactor for the price of El Capistan and do pretty much the same stuff you did with your Timeline. Unless there is something really cool in El Capistan that I'm not aware of.

I had a timefactor for a long while and got along with it pretty okay, but I didn't like using it live as much as an El Cap. Not quite sure what it is about the El Cap but I keep going back to it.
Or he could have bought an H9 Max for close to the same price. I would have done that if anything. It is nice having the big boxes though, not going to lie. I miss them sometimes.

I want an El Cap more than any other pedal right now. I had it when I played more bass and always thought I would absolutely love it on guitar. For a while, my board was just Mini and El Cap and it treated me so good.
Eh I use delay and reverb together too much to get an H9, can't you only do one algorithm at a time? I won't say that the thought didn't cross my mind though, I priced them.
Mode 2 of the El Cap (both switches in the middle), reverb set high with a little high end roll off, some decent modulation, and some crinkle. Sits incredibly well too

Yea only one algo at a time. I was hoping at some point that would change, but I'm not even sure they could do an update like that. It's really the biggest downfall of the pedal.

The el cap is definitely the best purchase I've made in a very long time. The tone fits the bass vi/baritone range perfectly and sits in the mix so well. That and the RM-1N are all I really need to play a show. I need to get a favorites switch.
Does anyone know if I can set it as a looper on the pedal and set the favorite as a delay but keep the loop recorded?

the unit runs on cassette. you may use any tape you want for it’s desired tonal effect but the machines are aligned for TDK SA or MAXELL XL II, which are very similar great sounding high bias / type II tapes and are readily available for around 3$ each.
That does mean you need to remember to flip it or rewind it
This is looking mighty tempting. I finally read the info on their website, but couldn't find any details on the delay times. Anybody has this info?

I don't think that it would let you do that, I think it wipes the loop when you switch modes

sooooo.... actual curiosity. TOTES not trying to be a doucher.
but isn't the El Cap like $380? why not get a TimeLine at that price?

El Cap is $300 new. I paid $230 for the one I have now, but have also bought them new twice. Totally worth it IMO. Never been interested in a Timeline personallly. Don't need most of those functions.
