Well I'm almost there...waiting for one more pedal and then some patch and power cords....

Seeing the Echolution makes me nostalgic and sad. It was the first pedal I ever truly wanted, and the worst thing is that I had hyped myself so much for it that when I finally had enough for it I was superbly disappointed. Now that I understand pedals more I can see where I would use it and would love one again, but man those memories still sting a bit.

Haha, that's hysterical. I went through the exact same thing. That is my second echolution. My first one I lusted after and purchased at full price when they were new...then sold it after a few months. Now, years later, I'm rebuilding my rig, and I couldn't live without one...even got the limited echolution chrome. And playing through it now, I love it dearly. Probably just for the nostalgia. haha!

No, not true...it actually IS a brilliant pedal. I just bought my first one at a time when I didn't understand the real purpose of a delay like that...and now that I do, I truly appreciate its capabilities...especially once I get the 8-step program hooked into the delay time expression pedal input, and get the thing cabled into the effects loop of my amp so its really detailed and clear.

There's a ton of nostalgia there, though, which makes me love it more.

I would need the power strip anyway, so wouldn't gain. Been thru this many times and nothing on the market can handle everything I need, so why have both a supply unit and a power strip? I think for now the strip is the best I can do. If I ditched the temple audio board for another brand, I could mount the strip under the board...

Need 18vAC, 1000mA for the Bi-filter, 15vDC, 300mA for the echolution, and 12vAC, 833mA for the EP-1...and then 11 more 9v power slots.

The power strip takes up space, but will be silent and handle any power need. So I just bought a larger board to accommodate the strip. Haha. I don't see another way to win.

The only other possible solution if I keep this board is to rack mount the power strip underneath the Bi-filter and gain the board space... But then I totally lose any portability, cuz I'd have 15 wall warts to unplug, drag along, and replug every time I moved things.

The way it is, I will only have to unplug the Bi-filter and move it separately.

I'm definitely not married to the temple audio board...so maybe I shop for a pedal train and stick that Tripp-lite under it. I just HATE velcro with a passion.

I'd be surprised if the bifilter actually needs 1000. You should be able to power your ac pedals with a cioks AC8 (use two outlets to power the 18v) pedal. Then get a pussy power for the 15v. And you'll have enough 9v outlets left over to power your regular pedals with some room for growth.

Ok, fair point. An AC8 is 6.2 inches long, and a pussy power is 5.7 inches long, so that would gain me 7 inches of board space, or enough for 1 pedal with side jacks, or 2 pedals with top jacks if they are mounted on top.

The problem I had with mounting the Tripp-Lite under the board was not size...it was that once there's anything under there, you can no longer mount a pedal on the top of the board in that location because the pedals have to bolt through from the back side, and there's a thumb screw on the back side that is pretty bulky. If I went with these two separate units under the board, I would have a little more flexibility about where they went, and one gap that a thumb screw could fit into between the two units, but not much improvement.

This just seems to be a major limitation with the Temple Audio board. With a different board I could easily just use what I have and gain all that space back, by just moving the hulking thing under the board. Then I would have the 1000mA in case that really is all utilized by the bi-filter, and the full 833mA for the Pigtronix EP-1.

Are there any other boards that use some other attachment system than velcro? If the temple audio board was just taller it would allow the power strip and the bolt heads to coexist, so maybe I can just modify the end caps of the temple board to make the thing 1 inch taller.

I guess the other solution would be to construct a "mezzanine" that covered the power strip with another smaller temple audio board...with enough height that it would fit the thumb screws for the pedals that went on it. Then the power strip would be tucked away under a gleaming strip of new, shiny, candy-like pedals, where it would anger people less.

I didn't realize the temple board was that limited in regards to how you placed things.

Yea, I guess that would be the obvious solution to all problems. Black zip ties. Then the ugly power strip goes under the board, and I gain back spots for up to 5 pedals. If I need to move them I use a utility knife and new zip ties. *sigh* How depressing.

Looks like it only has 9V AC power. No 12V or 18V. Everything else is DC.

yeah I get why you use the power the way you do,

have you thought about just mounting a few pedals on top of the power strip?

Another option for those of you with power consumption concerns might be mounting something like the Furman Pluglock...



If you put it where the current (ha!) powerstrip is now, you might gain a little room, but you could also mount it to the back face of the board and free up all of that real estate...
