We'll definitely be giving these prototypes away in a contest for ILF members in the not too distant future, you can count on it! We're looking forward to it too!

Clips of the prototype would be awesome. It better sound like space... if you could hear sounds in space.
Though free contest prototypes are just as good.

Actually Nychthemeron, the miniberators sound exactly like the current Reverberator pedals. I made sure to use all the same components, same power handlings and tolerances and materials, just smd packages. I don't hear any difference at all to a through-hole assembly Reverberator. That was actually the most important thing to me when we began this project, that the minis would sound exactly the same.
I do agree we need more clips though, just in general! Our sound clips are old and dusty and all the pedals have been upgraded since those 2006 clips. I'm in the process of setting up a recording computer but I'm not great with computers and the stuff takes me forever.
When the upgraded Reverberators with more features get into the prototype stage, months from now I'm afraid, I definitely want to be ready to do clips and there will definitely be new sounds to show off with those.

I've done clips really simply with the Apogee Duet and a school laptop that happened to have Logic Express on it and plugged in some stereo condensers. It worked really well for quick clips and the set-up was a breeze!

Hi crowquill *local high five*
I haven't even started the upgraded Reverberator yet.. it's way off still, just a twinkle in my eye right now... I'm sorry. Once the miniberators are ready we'll retire the current model and then I'll get cracking on the upgrades. I'm really looking forward to it though, I wish I could start right away.. messing around on breadboards and making pcbs are the funnest parts of the job.
It's definitely going to have to be more expensive than the current model as it's gaining a lot of features and parts, there's no way to avoid it I'm afraid, but I'm not sure just yet how much higher. At least $25ish just to cover the cost of the extra parts, plus the extra complexity will make it harder and more time consuming to do both the builds and the finishes.
Whereabouts in Edmonton are you? We're in Sherwood Park now but we started the business in an apartment downtown. And yeah, I'd say a local guy who is also an ILF member could probably get a bit of a deal.

Sweet! I'm in the old strathcona area. Any chance I'd be able to check out where the magic happens one of these days?

I think we could handle that, cq!
Little update on the miniberators, I'm currently shopping the pcb layout around for manufacturing quotes from Canadian pcb makers.. they all need a couple weeks to get their quotes ready so nothing is ordered yet, but it's progress!

Little update, yesterday I officially ordered the miniberator pcbs! We'll be getting them from the same place that Empress Effects gets their pcbs from, RMF Design in Ontario. Big thanks to Steve Bragg for helping me through the process!
In 4 to 6 weeks we'll receive 500 miniberator boards, barring any surprises, and in that time we still have to get our artwork and drilling template ready for Pedals Parts Plus. Hopefully in 6ish weeks we'll have the boards and the boxes and we can start sending out some miniberators.
We were wondering if you guys had a preference on the name? We've been calling them two things, "r r r" is what we planned to call them from the get-go and that's what they're called on the pcb, but around the shop and to our pals we just call them "miniberators". You think "Miniberator" is an ok name or too.. dumb?
We'll start up the contests soon for some prototypes, we've got 4 to give away and maybe a 5th too once I receive the first test pcb from the manufacturers. The contests will just be fun easy stuff, like deciphering the geometries and maths used in crop circles, proving the moon is hollow, locating Atlantis.. no big whoop.

Nah, I like miniberator.
(Or if the general public doesn't care for that name, I'll custom order one for $3,000.00 extra that says "miniberator. That's right." on it )

I dig miniberator. Rolls off the tongue a bit nicer. Tho a bit harder for Tanya to squeeze that big name onto the smaller box I'd imagine, eh, I'm sure she'd make it look groovy as usual. R r r is cool too tho, especially for those closet Mork and Minty fans...

miniberator has a nice ring to it.
