It's sort of the same thing as oscillators -- they all do the same thing, but they don't do the same thing at all, you know?

that was probably the best explanation I've ever heard of anything, as someone who has been a synth geek for many years that couldn't have made any more sense! I now fully expect to develop a fuzz obsession...
Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

Strange Tales wrote:They're really cheap for a stock one and I think I paid $80 for mine which is a pretty fair price. According to him (never played a stock one) the depth isn't all too great until he mods it. I'll try and do a nice demo of it tonight, but another guy who bought one posted a demo of his own. Honestly, the Ghostface guy is nice enough he'd probably mod it for you if you asked him about it.

that's beautiful - 50/50 because of what a great demo you did. wish they were all like that.
thank you for not going nuts noodling and trying to show off.

I've been posting updates in here a bunch, but I'm trying to get us back to page 2000 because that was so fun last time
I'm doing the opposite as Chrisdermo (sick stuff btw). Went from a big board with a dozen pedals a few months ago down to four and I'm all full of happiness.

If this isn't tattooed on your body already, it probably should be.

chrisdermo wrote:Yeah I've definitely caught the bug, 2 months ago I only had a third of those pedals! Lurking on here for a month certainly helped that along...... And selling a bunch of synthesizers to fund.
I'm going to switch out that headrush for a tc triple delay when I get some cash and hoping to jump on an mwfx metal glitch when they get released.
I'm kinda lost when it comes to fuzz/distortion pedals though, I literally have no idea what separates one from the next really beyond the knobs they have for control.
The Headrush is great. And has a great looper. Can't speak for the TC Triple. Had the Flashback x4 which I liked but didn't utilize enough.

Anyway. There are so many great fuzzes to check out. It's honestly starting to figure out what "variants" you like.
Muff guy? Fuzz Face? Tonebender? Octave Fuzz? Germanium/Silicone Diodes? Distortion that gets fuzzy?
You'll find varying camps here at ILF. The general go-to all in one does a dash of everything tends to be the Dr. Scientist Elements which can do all flavors of dirt. Lots of love, particularly in the Doom Room Camp for anything by Black Arts Toneworks. There's also lots of love for anything Brian does, he's Smallsound/Bigsound. And we must not forget the lovely maestro of ILF, Tom Dalton and his merry collection of FuzzHugger boxes.
In short....

If it's some sort of muff or rat, chances are it dooms.

Lord knows that I cannot afford to hang out with him and UG.
I think the only things currently on my break pedge list are the new EQD Delay and the silly powerful Verellen stereo SS amp. Frick me, bud.
