You're Doom and MF Ring incoming finally

rainlet wrote:I picked it up out of B/S/T here. It's out of warranty, according to the card in the box. I doubt I damaged the switch, since I was just activating it with my thumb. I've been fiddling with it some more, and I _can_ hear sound coming out, if I crank up everything on my amp as well as the level on the pedal. Can't get it oscillating anymore either. I'm thinking I'm probably just going to have to take it as a loss.

Screw that. Send it to me (or one of the other capable builders here) and we'll get it fixed up for ya.

Probably just paid slightly too much for a crappy solidstate preamp. Might as well try to go full Albini though.

I also bought a DIY 9u Eurorack box from a dude on muffwiggler.
Essentially this is a box you pour all your money into and then set on fire.

I appreciate the offer! Thankfully, Hiro seems to be a great guy and is willing to fix it up for me.

I really should learn how to care for pedals myself, I guess I'm just too hard on things. I'm total shit with a soldering iron though.

Wouldn't it be easier to ship it to TX rather then AUS??? Jero does excellent work... :thumb:

Oh awesome :thumb: glad to hear it. Taking it at a loss should not be an option these days haha. I hate seeing dead pedals

 For sure, but I'd get the man himself to do it too

Yeah, it would, but everything had already been set up with Hiro and postage bought before I saw that post. I'm ok with waiting a bit, as long as it gets fixed. I'll keep him in mind for the next time I (inevitably) destroy a pedal though!

Hirofumi is awesome!

Roland SH-09 and RS-09 came in yesterday finally. SH-09 has water damage and tons of rust (and stinks like sea water, like really bad) but it works kinda. Needs some love...might make a screen with that screen printer setup I got in a trade and re-paint/fix the rust. Must have been in a flood in Japan; I guess you get what you pay for though (I got it pretty cheap). It is one nice sounding little synth though, way better than my old Moog from the same era (this was probably a higher end model though than the moog I had). The RS-09 is cheesy as all hell but it sounds awesome with pedals and the vibrato is nice. Postal carrier was a little pissed at the box...haha.

I used an SH-09 for years, awesome bass and cray noise synth... Hiroshi from Acid Mothers is a Master of the 09, also plug the headphone into the input... :thumb:

Awesome, didn't think of that one! I know that the input is where it really shines (from what I have read). When I get it all cleaned up, I will get some before and after pics. I always wanted one and I couldn't pass it up one for $100 that kinda works.

Replaced the power cord (had one here), kinda cleaned out the jacks best I could, and did a once over for some broken traces/noticable damage...nothing.

The noise osc is a little weird...transistor with a leg cut off? Weird antenna? Cool.

The jacks need replacing and it needs some paint, but it works after warming up...The headphone out varies in volume crazily so there is probably some caps that need replacing. The jacks are bad though. Might get some contact cleaner for the keyboard and pots...they are aren't scratchy, but they keys don't respond well somedtimes.

Oh god, it stinks though. I can't tell if it is cigarettes or sea water or was used by a spider monkey on a pirate ship (most likely all three), but it stinks. It's some weird combination of all the bad smells that come with bad instruments that everyone warns about.
