Thanks man, I just posted up the bass demo too, as well as a short clip of a full band mix with it on everything.

Thats one of the sickest shirts I've seen in a while. Simple yet effective without being overly flashy, or overly crude. Both of which seem to be recent fads in band shirts.

I checked em out over the phone this weekend and it sounded amazing, can't wait to hear it through the studio speakers.

that's crazy talk.
It's hard to do when they're saying things like, "It's Tuesday night but you are making it feel like it's Saturday."
But I absolutely agree with you about Kiss. Especially after watching them "play" at Hellfest.
If they said that in that raspy distorted Scandinavian voice inbetween songs, yeah I'd be kind over them too.
Wait KISS "played" Hellfest?!?!?

Scandinavian bands say the silliest things between songs... When I saw Belphegor in Detroit the singer would just mumble things like "Fuck you Detroit, we hates you.... Just kidding... we loves you... Destroit..." complete with Skwisgaard pronunciation.

Yes they do, it must be a cultural thing. I think us Americans have unfortunately gotten to the point of "I paid to see you play, not say silly things on stage, so yeah if you could get back to playing, that would be great".

I think it depends on the band. I have a hard time taking a lot of black metal bands seriously in a live setting anyway. Sometimes the levity helps, so they don't come across as trying to out-brood everyone else, but sometimes it shatters the suspension of disbelief.

The best black metal shows I've seen have had alot of noise in between songs with no talking, and usually things to add atmosphere. Such as (as campy as it can sound) lit candles and lots n lots of fog. That's because it added to the experience which is what makes live black metal for me, if its just the band in their spiked outfits and cloaks up on stage playing it almost seems more campy to me.

This is how I am with most metal and stuff honestly, it's a big part of the reason why a lot of it doesn't work for me live. Theatrics seem to come with the territory, especially for black metal and drone and such and it makes it easier to get into what's going on.

Theatrics come witht he territory of playing live period. It just changes depending on your genre / vibe / etc / etc. Even cover bands have to get up there and fake a smile and act like they know the couple getting married that paid them $1000 to come play. And the worst bands i've seen seem to completely forget that little tidbit.

Oh, yeah, that's totally true. And I've seen bands that levelled the room just by force of will, but a lot of the time people just talk in order to fill space with noise, and that turns me off, show or not.
