My new amp came in:

But unfortunately it has some serious crackling problems, as well as problems with the reverb tank. Everything still sounds amazing going through it, but the extra noise created by the amp is far too much to deal with in a recording environment. Whenever I play high up on the neck (past the 12th fret) there's something physically jangling inside the amplifier itself, which is perplexing. Just an all around frustrating purchase. I think I'm gonna return it and go with a completely different amp, because this problem appears to be a recurring issue among 68 Twin Reverb Reissues.

On the other hand, 3x NPD! Got the Chase Bliss Audio Warped Vinyl, the Walrus Audio Mayflower, and the Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter. Aside from some significant dB increase with the Grand Orbiter (not sure why that's happening tbh), everything works great. The Warped Vinyl is such a great pedal - I'm glad I never went the route of Instant Lo-Fi Junky because this thing is so versatile - and I don't even fully understand the ramping controls yet. Here's how everything sits on the board at the moment. I've got the Warped Vinyl after the Timeline but before the BlueSky.

The GAS continues for a new fuzz pedal. I'm thinking maybe the Dream Crusher from EQD but I'm still up in the air. Also thinking about an El Capistan or a WET reverb.

Just can't ever find the right fucking reverb pedal.

:picard:

Out: Procession

In: ???

Maybe I'll try the RM-1N or get an RRR again. The RM-1N is probably the right answer considering I'm playing in two gaze-y bands, but the new RRR with the cute lil dinosaur / canadian sea monster is just so super adorable that I might go with that despite my best judgement. My friend wants to trade me his BlueSky he's never gelled with in exchange for me building him a delay. We'll see how this goes.

I'm not sure if it was my unit or anything, but the RM-1N couldn't get a big enough reverb before breaking up in pure feedback. Maybe I was impatient in setting it up, but I did try for a good while. :idk:

Here's a clean reverb setting on the RM-1N that sounds pretty damn huge that I've been using lately:

Level: all the way CW
Reverb mix: 2
Reverb depth: 1:30
Reverb output: 9
Feedback: 12
Hi toggle switch
Tone: 11
Pre+post gain+drone rolled all the way back
Reverb lenght switch up.
