Sounds good to me. I like the riffing. Not such a fan of the Cookie Monster vox in general, but there's nothing wrong with Cookie's execution on this one.

it goes from Mastodonish to Katatonia. It kinda reminds me of Baroness's first and second ep's and then yea smashed with Katatonia... I actually prefer if they existed totally separate from each other cause they sorta just clash in a bad way for me. and I like the Katatonia pieces far more than the rest of the song not that the rest is shit, but those grab me but then I'm disappointed when you leave them just lingering there. Honestly would feel that it would be a strong song(s) if you just took those clean sections and expanded upon them with likewise sounding slow/midpaced singing material and the aggressive sections would just need another more aggressive part and would be stronger. Hell when you said cookie monster vocals... i expected death metal vocals, the gruff shouting fits perfectly.

I write when I'm walking, for the most part. When I'm fat, the songs are slower. When I'm thin they get faster. I write riffs when I'm playing guitar, though. Whether I'm sitting or standing depends on whether I'm willing to go find a strap.
I can get that, to a degree. actually it's why I enjoy my job so much cause i write during work while I'm doing shit where I can basically turn my brain off. so I'll sit there and structure an entire song and roughly get all the riffs in place, and then when I get to my guitar I can nail the actual riffs out

The guitars sound nothing like Mastodon and I love it. Something about the tone of the lone drums at the beginning threw me off, but the playing and writing are pretty solid.

SLK offers constructive criticism services of a professional quality unmatched by other doomers.
Here at SLK, we don't believe you've been offered adequate feedback until your artistic endeavours have been completely deconstructed and analysed, component by component.
It is only after deconstruction that you are then ready to begin being criticised constructively.
For more info on SLK's services, PM for a private consultation or a brochure, to find out what SLK can do for you.

lol. It's the only way I can enjoy said music by breaking it down first and then building it back up again.
