I love the DSD-2 sampler mode. The delay is my favorite, but the sampler fills up so much space. So much fun.

well, my amp is an Ampeg Gemini I which is a 22 watt-ish amp, so I usually run it pretty loud so its overdriven and use the volume pedal to clean it up, and then use the micro amp to smash it. the gemini has the nicest overdrive, so huge and brutal. i also love it cuz the gemini is a little dark and the micro amp adds a tiny bit of presence thats really nice.

sometimes i use the micro amp in conjunction with the escape velocity or rat for a bunch of feedback and sustain so i can put on my delay and WEEEEOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW blow all the normies ears up

YEAH MAN!!! thanks for the summary

looks like a sweet setup!

Escape velocity looks like a great pedal BTW

I also like how much you hate modulation

blame all the blues wankers. they ruined modulation for me

Oh man, not the blues wankers,
I have less modulation than I used to but I think it's because I like the modulation I get from non-modulation pedals Pitchfactor RV5 and Echobox and you can pretty much get all cool modulation tones

For a while that 80s clean toned had killed modulation for me, I want to blame candlebox, not sure why............

Dude, have you tried running the 86 after a buffered pedal (like the AD-9)? It changes the overall character, it gets more open and seems to get more gain as well. And on the oscillation setting, it doesn't oscillate when the knob is ccw, so you can do the neat tricks that the 88 does with bringing oscillation in and out. :joy:

I love this board ! It's simple but I bet it sounds very good. Every time I see a RAT on a board, I want to buy another one (I had a modded RAT2 this summer, but it had 3 switches, too much options, and sounded kinda flat, even with the gain and volume at 3 o'clock), and I understand your hate of modulation pedals. I played without modulation for "a long time" and now i have a flanger, a phaser and a chorus for when I'm in the mood. But I always find it sounds too "80's". Maybe do I have to stop listening to Radiohead, Muse or Pink Floyd, and reading Gilmourish.com.

I almost bought a Boss RE-20, but instead kept my DD-7 and bought a RV-5. Do you find it worth the price ?

I'm going to have to try that...haha. I'm in such a mode fuzz before buffer ... always. haha  I forget sometimes...Last time I played with the 86 was when I kinda jammed with the cello player and they made me turn off all the fuzz...  It is usually front and center but just been practicing a lot lately clean (trying to it right haha).

Sounds awesome though! Really gotta try that one.
