Kinda weird. The band was the only reason I moved to Chicago. Not sure what I'm gonna do now.
You're moving to ATL. duh.
Whores becomes a four piece.
PS - Whores in Chicago tonight. Anybody else going? ILF Midwest meetup?

I will be at the Whores show in Chicago tonight. Look for the tall skinny guy with glasses that looks totally uncomfortable being in a crowded bar.
I've got some time before I can afford to move. PDX, DEN and ATL would all be pretty rad.

I'll be the bearded guy probably not too many of those around. I'll try to say hello, Will, since I think I've seen a handful of pictures... at least enough to identify you, maybe.
(real talk: will be wearing a blue flannel shirt and denim vest with Uzala back patch.)

I haven't got to play it through my rig yet because both of my heads are at the practice space but it feels great in my hands. The neck is very nice, probably what I'd call a Les Paul neck that is Fender scale. Really comfortable. When standing up the body feels just like my SG so I can say that I am going to dig this guitar a lot. If the pickups suck I'll end up throwing a Duncan in the bridge and call it a day. The guitar resonates pretty loud unplugged though so that is a good sign. And the finish isn't as flamed as I thought it would be so that is good. I like a slightly figured plain top and this is just about there for me. I got this for about half of what they usually run so I figured it'd be an easy flip if I didn't like it but I think this one will be a keeper.

Oh NICE!!! Congrats, Clifton on the new guitar. There is a red for sale on another forum in the UK that I'd like to give a whirl, but I can't afford it.

I kinda prefer this one, though:

Conkster!!!!
This is freakin awesome NGD! Its beautiful, like you say just enough flame without being overbearing but very classy overall.
PRS necks are great, there's some kind of secret sauce with their necks. I've never played one that didnt feel amazing, right through the range, they just do it right. Design wise and feel wise i've always though they are perfect...and makes sense as PRS started out by trying to build the best in-between-fender-and-gibson-guitar; taking the best from both camps...and they nailed it. One the pickups side, thats where they always fall down for me. To my ears, what ever secret sauce they have for construction, they dont have it for pickups. But thats an easy fix, and relatively cheap.
Happy NGD Conky QC!

Yeah, I've never been a massive fan of their pickups. You know how often a set of Bare Knuckles come up for cheap on UK websites, Sam. It's almost always worth the upgrade for a set of Cold Sweats or Mules.
But I still remember how butter smooth a PRS Santana felt when I tried it out years and years ago when I was buying my first electric. It played itself.

Dan...next time youre looking for pickups check out ASL/Oil City...its a guy on the fretboard...ive had 3 sets from him and they kill everything else ive had. He does whatever you want and priced cheap for custom builds.

I remember you buying a set from them. What's the difference between ASL and Oil City?

Same thing...he changed the name to ASL...his started to make it bigger now. His ASL pickups are being used in the Feline guitars and in the new run of Black Machine guitars. He might start getting the Bare Knuckles status soon...as his following the same path!

£80 for a Wide-Range pickup, that's pretty damn good. Lollars Regals are twice that price.

Yeah man...also you can get him wind it the way you want.
He recently did me a P90 sized humbucker but made it look exactly like a P90 on the outside, so single row of pins. He rebuilt the pickup 3 times because he had a lot trouble making it balance with the neck P90...and he charged basically the price of a humbucker.
I think his going to do a photo story of the build...which im looking forward to seeing!

Sounds like a passionate dude. I don't know whether it's me, but these days it's hard to find small guys working for passion and for a hobby rather than making a load of money.

I dig those PRS pickups. I think they sound great for the kind of vibe they are going for.
If you end up swapping them out and need a buyer post it on here.
