Well, there are more than a few stuck-up dudes on TB (and many instances me feeling unable to relate at all) but it's still a great resource. I don't regret giving them $20. At the very least that $20 enabled me to move more gear than would have been possible anywhere else.
It certainly has its weirdness but in terms of general intelligence I feel that TB still blows away Harmony Central, among a few other popular forums.

edit: but yeah it is hilarious watching the shitstorms brew over something REALLY stupid or someone taking a humorous post way too seriously.
