I tend to try to avoid talking about him because it does me no good to keep that pot stirred up. I just try to go about my business, personally and professionally.

samzadgan wrote:holy shit...i only got to listen to Art of Self Defence today...i got to HoF late...and only got the latest stuff. But...from the first song i'm hooked into it...the riff are fat and the whole thing is pretty fucking cool. I much prefer his guitar sound on this album then the later ones...was he still using Matamps from sleep days?

I think a Matamp and a Soldano power amp? Other people will know better. I also really, really love the production on the reissue of Art of Self Defense. So thick and the drums just sound phenomenal. I hope they give Surrounded by Thieves the same treatment, even though the muddy production fits the tone of that record. A little more clarity would be beautiful.

Soldano Preamp^It was the SP-77. You can see it below the Green here:

It's funny -- for all the Matamp association, High on Fire has always been Soldano tones.

I thought you guys would like that smashing pumpkin thing. I never really liked them and I don't like how billy corgan acts a lot of the time. But this doom metal thing is just ridiculous.

Super shitty hearing about the hm-2 stuff too. Its dumb when people have to act like ass hats just to make themselves feel good. And not to stir the pot more but what happened with the enormous door thing?

For high on fire I think it was the opposite, soldano preamp into matamp power amp?

Correct. You can also see the SP-77 here at the 2 minute mark (and this video is fucking awesome)

Also, clarity? what? fuck that.

Every time someone brings up some person being a massive tool and causing drama online, it's always in some secret FB group that I don't belong to. So I have to guess at what's going on or ask someone privately, because no one will come right out and say what they hell is going on. I gather from several people's comments lately that this builder is really fond of talking shit about other builders constantly and trying to pick fights with them about anything he can. Which is unfortunate, since I've heard about his work once, but about online drama with people I like and respect about half a dozen times.

I am totally uninterested in HM-2 clones but could suck a mean dick for an MT-2 clone. Is it just me?

Regarding the LWA dude...I've peeped his wares a couple times and nothing really stands out. Shit is way overpriced, as well. And after hearing AxAx's experience it pretty much turned me off from buying any of his shit.
