Those surface pros are so fucking nice. I really want to get one to use for recording/live applications/easy access DAW. I don't know how powerful of one I would need though, and those things are pretty expensive for the good ones.

What are you using it for/how has it done for you so far?

Will be using it for art, primarily. The wacom pen is a huge deal for me. Artrage, photoshop, sculptris, etc. Haven't received it yet.

I'd been using a cheap lenovo thinkpad 2 till now. Think surface pro but much less powerful, but also more affordable. It was barely good enough for photoshop and a few other things. For the cheaper option, think of it as a 10-y/o computer. Whatever audio stuff you could do 5-10 years ago, you can probably do it on a $300 lenovo. I haven't actually tried audio on mine yet. Maybe I could just to see how well Live and FL run.

The surface pro on the other hand is nearly a full computer. At least the pricier ones with a lot of ram and nicer processors. Just that they don't have a "gamer" gfx card in them, but otherwise they're pretty good. Assuming audio drivers work, I'm sure lots of audio could be done on the SP2, especially with an external USB HD.

I got the older SP2 instead of the SP3 mainly because of price. I wanted 8gb of ram, and at that spec it was half the price for the SP2. Also, it was the better wacom tech. Otherwise if price isn't an issue and you don't care about the wacom stuff as much, SP3 is def the way to go.

Not really. I wish, but I can't afford even a secondhand IE pedal these days.

Incoming: Ditto X2. The bigger box is worth the dedicated stop button for me.

Also, more EBS flat patch cables of various lengths. Those things have been so handy for me. So flexible.

Does anyone have a Strymon tap/favorite switch? I'm too lazy to build one and too cheap to buy one new. :picard: But I could definitely use one for my El Capistan. Been going back and forth between a crisp multi tap delay with no verb and a modulated slapback with verb to run into my dirt.

My board is getting back to where I want it to be now. I want to get a standalone reverb to put at the beginning of my chain. I'm torn between a Ghost Echo and a RRR. I kind of want to get both. But I'm trying to keep it sort of minimal and be sort of frugal.

Heard some good things about it, and it was kinda cheap, so I jumped on it. Also, this time I made sure it ain't a fraud again :)
