Nice score, Skip!

I want a 6x12 for the reasons listed above. My Orange 412s are insanely heavy, and I don't remember my old Emperor 612 weighing much more than a 412. Plus, it had an overall sound to it that I just don't hear with two 412s or a 412/212 stack.

Also, an old dude had this on craigslist for a steal, so I jumped on it.

I've wanted a Gibson V (and an explorer, but that's a whole other thing...) for years. Four bills? Duh. I'm in.

Sweet score yourself!!!

My Emperor 6x12 does weigh noticeably more than the Emperor 4x12 I had. But I'm with you there's just something overall with the tone that I don't get out of a 4x12.

As do I, but as of right now the big funds are going to the new drum kit otherwise I would have gotten one much like Darren's. All the higher end LTD's (400's and 1000's) I've played have all been great guitars that play like butter. I just really didn't want EMG's so I found this one with the wicked pickguard and all ready swapped out for pickups I use so I knew it had to be.

My V2 412 is honestly heavier than most 612's I've lifted, and definitely heavier than my 810. It's tilt back and has ports so it doesn't really count, but I think bigger cabs are easier to move overall because I hate deadlifting smaller ones.

Cool guitars Skip and Ben! I had a LTD 401 and it ruled. Dunno why I got rid of it. Oh yeah, sold it and bought a tele deluxe. Fuck. I want an Esquire now. I just can't decide on if I'd want a single coil or humbucker in the bridge.

FUCKING CHRIST I'VE BEEN SICKS FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS. My coworker got me sick a couple days before I was gonna go see Peter's band play with Eyehategod and I've just been down since. My birthday was on Thursday and I was just in bed just sleeping most of the day. Finally starting to feel better though, slowly coming back to the land of the living.

Shhh...don't give them any ideas.

 in an ironic twist, it'd be weird if all these hipster doomers lurked here, waiting to see what shit we'd type next.
Fuck it.
Beards are out.
Tonsures are in.
Look like a trve medieval doom monk, you jerks. Not just some craft beer swilling Rasputin.
While I'm at it, fuck volume and fuzz. What you want you be doing is starting P&W bands that just substitute "Satan", "the Allfather",or "the Ancient Sleepers" in wherever they would normally say "Jesus".
Bonham size kits are no good for this, Ric basses are out, too. And you'll probably just need some acoustic guitars.
So no need for large, stained cabs, or old English tube heads, or ancient American solid state technology.
Alright. My work here is done.

You guys just totally talked me into a 612, though. Thanks.

well,pastels anyway,i chose pink
and all play through a mix of 6" and 8" speakers
were all trading in for strats
and were never buying used amps ever again
i think thats a fairly accurate state o' the doomroom

I'm always so late to these damn trends that change so fast. Guess I'd better just give away my EGC and amps/cabs. Shit. What's the ideal 6" speaker to match my Jazz Chrous amp?

Cheers, dudes. I sorta want to sand it down, finish it w/ tung oil, and either go all black or black guard and truss rod cover w/ gold hardware. Like these:

(but with black pickups)
