Also, does anyone want to buy a zvex fat fuzz factory for like $125? I need to get some money in my pocket FAST because shit is really really not going my way in life. Who wants to be the wind beneath my wings right now? EH? EH?
Those look great. All white looks awesome.

All this tolex talk is really messing with me right now. I reconsidered getting some cabs built because my guitarist is planning on attempting to build some for himself so I figure we can just make a matching wall. But, in the mean time, I'm thinking about redoing mine. I was thinking tolex and grille. Called to get a quote and it was around 600. Ouch. Well might just attempt it myself.

Who did you contact. I was looking at Mojotone and they claim to be fairly cheap for redoing tolex. I have never tried them out though.

How hard is it to re-tolex something yourself? I'm assuming it involves stripping the old stuff off, cutting and pasting new stuff? Or is more involved?

The removal of the tolex and sanding it so where you can put on the new tolex is the main issue. That part is the fucking suck. But I can't see how it's $600 worth of a pain in the ass. like if it was me with someone asking me for a 412, I'd probably charge 100 bucks and that would include the tolex cost.
But you pretty much got it right Joe. remove old, put on new. the end.

Mojotone is in my neck of the woods. I've never had anything built or refinished by them personally, but the work I have seen is top notch.

Yeah. I mean -- $100 is pretty cheap but all things considered... for $600 you can buy a new 412 from Avatar in whatever fucking color you want. Sweet christ.

Bummer. I figured as much, but bummer.
I guess a road trip would be the only answer.

yea it's usually the best. shipping is a pain but I'm bout to have to ship a 612, 412, and 212 115 cab. The guy was going to come and pick them up and is now opting to spend the like 6-7 to ship them since he can't make it and wants them before his tour.

That was for the tolex and grille. It was like $180 for the 810 and a little less for the 215 for just the tolex. My big issue is not having much room to work. I'm thinking I will.

take it outside with a hand sander after you cut away all the old and just go at it with a mask on, get a lot of 80grit.
