This showed up today and I have been making loud noises with it. It actually has less gain than I expected, but once you give it a bit of volume it's just fucking huge. I can see how it knocked the Pharaoh off of Ben's board (I think). I've been wanting a single channel Marshally style amp recently, maybe another Jet City, which I could see being a really good match for the QM. Seems like it wants to push an amp that's already on the edge.

Man, I just gave Matt a Danelectro Cool Cat trem. If I had known you were looking I would have thrown it in with the Quantum Mystic. It sounded just as good to me as the TR2 but the only reason I stopped using it was because the jacks were on top and I couldn't get it to work on my board like that. The side mounted jacks on the TR2 were what I needed. That being said, the Hummingbird has always been a trem that I loved the sound of. Will own one someday.

Glad the QM got to you safely. I miss it already but I really needed the cash to get a tag and insurance on this van so that helped me out big time. I'll be picking up another QM when my cash flow levels out soon.

Both. In my band I'm B. I gotta have my shit in order and nice and neat so I know nothing will get left behind and that it will all be right where I need it on a dark stage. When I'm at home fucking around though it's A all the way. Especially when I'm doing my noise thing on the side.

I hate messing around w/ pedal order, tweaking settings, etc. Even though I know I'll ultimately sound better if I work at all that, I've always kinda resented spending time on it. I just want to play, not mess with stuff in order to get to the actual playing.
Meanwhile I'm constantly amazed at other people's tones - and those are probably the "B" people lol.

I'm a combination of both. I'm not meticulous about getting them all lines up with my cables zip tied and shit like that. I know that I switch pedals out far too often to make that a reality. I haven't posted board shots in awhile... maybe I'll get on that today.

i'm A and B...I'm a B until i get to a point where I'm bored, at which point I turn into an A.

i use to change pedals out pretty constantly, but over the last 6 months, i've been pretty steady with pedals...so what ever I did as a B...has stuck till now...and although i think i can get a better tone, I'm more of an A to care...

I'm a B unless I'm just trying out new pedals or looking for something different. But once I know it turns to B.

I'm an "A" inasmuch as my "board" (unless I'm just dicking around) is 2 pedals, both of which are powered by 9Vs, that sit on the floor.

I'd fall under "B", super perfectionist about arranging all my pedals. Unless I'm just throwing something together to demo real quick. I have (frequently) sat down and made scale diagrams of pedalboard layouts on graph paper, including actual spacing for patch cables and power supply.

The color change is from nitro cellulose lacquer turning yellow over time right? It would stand to reason that spraying it with a slightly yellow/amber tinted lacquer would do the job pretty well, but it's only a guess. I'm sure there are a bunch of people online that do it regularly/for a living.

So...the guy who is doing the re-finish is going to basically re-do the burst in the proper tear-drop shape, with the old silver dust paint that gibson use to use, then apply a green'ish tint to make it look like its from the 80's and finally, he's going to add some checking to it. Best part is, he will use Nitro, so it will naturally age even more!
