What are you dudes using for tremolo these days? I've very recently started to miss having a trem around.

havent been using it for a while, but i have a Hummingbird...which is really nice. I tried it out and compared it to a fulltone trem, and prefered it. It is a different beast to other trem pedals though, although it can get close to being a traditional trem pedal, it is really a choppy sound rather than that trem wave...i think its actually based on a Vox repeater pedal from the 70's (but dont quote me on that).

Quoting you because you're right... it's based on the Vox Repeat Percussion...

Ax - That's a pretty heavy couple of days, sounds like you managed just fine though. Drinking with old timers generally helps with shit like that :thumb:

Conk - boooo bassist woes.

Bassist woes suck a horse cock. Our original bassist is gonna record for the album but with him moving 3 hours away for a new job it won't work for him being able to play shows with us in the future. Temp guy was a no show half the time and just acted like he was just there when he felt like it without having to put in like the rest of us. Sucks cause he is pretty cool and knows how to play. I think we found our fix though. Dual rigs with Matt and I playing into bass stacks. Our old bassist has a Hartke bass head and Ampeg Fridge and I've got an SVT3 Pro with 2x10 and 4x10 SWR cabs. I think it will do the trick.

I'm all in, except.......... I propose y'all move to Colorado. It's a win win.

If I could talk everyone in the band into relocating I'd be down for this.

Boss TR2. It works pretty nice. I miss my Goatkeeper. It sounded the best out of any trem I ever used but I wasn't really using it for anything but standard trem sounds so I let it go.

Also I got a tooth pulled today. I forgot to eat before I went and I'm starving and nauseated from all the blood I've swallowed since I got home. Ugggh this fucking reeks of suckage. All I want is a big all pile of pizza and nachos.

Conk, huge bummer on the bass thing. But I'm sure y'all can pull it off, even if only until you find a full-time fella. I mean, In the Company of Serpents is just guitars and drums, and I don't think they sound lacking in the least.

Shiiit, man. it's been a long time. In my relatively newly single state, I've been real preoccupied with girls and doing band stuff with whiskey and another band (a skramz band   ), so yeah. But, in the time my absence, I decided on going to lutherie school. I start February 9 and now I'm freakin out trying to decide what kind of electric guitar I'm gonna build. I'm gonna do two, one acoustic, one electric. I can choose woods (exotic lawyer blooz shit is an option), body shape, hardware, pickups, whatever. Literally whatever I want. Any suggestions?? Thinkin' something dope Les Paul style. Maybe a sweet Yamaha SG clone?

I saw him at a bar shortly after moving to Nashville and it was one of the few times I've been starstruck. I spazzed the fuck out. He was there with some serious arm candy. On each arm.

Link to the skramz stuff? An SG could be really cool, especially with interestingly figured wood in a natural finish and black hardware

ditto on linkage to the skramz.

First of all, that's just fucking b-dass and an excellent idea.
If the cops rock up, it's a religious activity and you have the paper work to prove it!
Secondly, sign me up - I'd move to the states for that.
100+ cabs surrounding everyone in the room, every one tuned to at least A.
Would you have to reinforce the structure of the building?

:!!!: that would be killer and yea probably would have to reinforce the building, if it was a guarantee never move spot... fully reinforce and then set it up where the cabs can be perminently stacked ceiling high. kinda like honeycomb in a beehive, that way if one cab dies or catches a blown speaker just that single one can be repaired and placed right back to where it was.

It would be even better if it was a even more massive basement/bunker with a deceptive smaller gothic styled church on top. maybe a single horn like extention that extends from the basement that will let the drone out like gabriel's horn calling forth extermination. :animal:

Thanks for the trem recommendations. I've been through a fucking pile of them over the years. I may pick up a TR-2 again since it's cheap and I know it sounds good. I do need to check out the Old Blood Noise one though...

And I know that EQD Jamie was his tech/manager for a while, but I always thought that song was all TR-2. Either way, I would've had a Hummingbird long ago if it could get some throbby sine wave shiz.

Dueling guitar/bass rigs seem like an appropriate solution.

That fucking tooth looked gnarly as all hell.

This showed up today and I have been making loud noises with it. It actually has less gain than I expected, but once you give it a bit of volume it's just fucking huge. I can see how it knocked the Pharaoh off of Ben's board (I think). I've been wanting a single channel Marshally style amp recently, maybe another Jet City, which I could see being a really good match for the QM. Seems like it wants to push an amp that's already on the edge.

I like the idea of a Yamaha SG style guitar. Plus you'd be the only dude in class working on a guitar like that, which would be kinda cool.

I bet. Dude seems like he makes exactly zero apologies for being famous and is taking advantage of it.

You ever get an Arrows? I was just dicking around with Arrows > QM and it's pretty much the tone I'd want if I were looking to play some dick swinging metal (which I am every once in a while)

Nah, that's next on the list if I can fend off my lust for a trem, which realistically shouldn't be that hard..

And any metal I'm playing is dick swingin metal.

Welcome back poop.

I'm pretty sure we've all had the discussion before but lots of Doom Roomers are into some old school screamo shit. I know Skip, SLK, BoatRich and myself are. I think Conky is into some shit, too.
