I actually liked the BBM I had. I don't know a lot about Muffs, really, so the Tone Wicker looked like the best inexpensive option at the time.
There was a mint Black Russian Sovtek along with some nice looking etched Muff clones in BST a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to grab the Black Russian. Sadly for me it was CONUS only

Wicker sounds best with both switches off which just makes it a wide open muff with vol and gain...

just fired this bad boy up for the first time

it was shipped with the tubes still in, which is kind of .. weird, but no problems so far. there' a loud pop when engaging/disengaging stand by tho - anyone know if that is something inherent to these amps?

No idea, but why on earth would you ship that amp with the tubes still inside.

Wonder if it has something to do with the transistors? My Acoustic 370 has a loud fizzle/popping noise when I turn it on, and my amp tech told me it was just the old transistors starting up and that it actually wasn't a problem. Since they're close to 40-50 years old now it's just gonna happen.

I shipped it with the tubes still in because I didn't know if he was comfortable putting them back in. I also packed it like it was headed for a war zone and was not concerned at all.
Fun Fact: The only time I have ever had a problem shipping or receiving an amp was when the tubes were pulled and all arrived broken.
