Hey guys, what might be causing my Orange CR120 to squeal when the gain is all the way up and I start to turn the volume up, say past 2? I always assumed it was just my guitar's proximity to the speakers or interference from somewhere (I get a lot of noise in my signal in my house). I mostly play low volume so it wasn't bothering me but I just want to make sure I don't have a big problem on my hands or something.

Will Haven are some of the guys from The Abominable Iron Sloth, right? I'm going to have to make sure I catch that.

Krosis, no idea but you should probably have it checked out. actually that 10 dollar peavey bass amp I got started doing the same thing though it doesn't even need a bass plugged in or to be turned up. I haven't bothered yet to care for it since I don't use it immediately for anything.

I don't think the Orange did that when I tried it out in the store, just when I got home. I guess that's why I chalked it up to interference or something. I'm using an old beat up crappy power cord. Could that be a problem?

it's worth a shot, usually even if doesn't seem to be the problem I always go through all that if I'm having trouble I'm uncertain of... change out chords, power cords, the outlet I'm using, the guitar, the cab.. and if it's consistent then it's time to send it off.

What's a good power cord for an amp head?
