Good enough that I don't want to say it here in case someone calls me on it when it's time to sell.

Sweet. Dibs on the flip? Haha

Whats the tonal range like? Is the frequency response really wide or kinda limited? Are joysticks reaaally the bees knees?

Deets man ;)

The thing is really fuckin' weird. It does cover a lot of tonal range, but you really can't count on being able to get any sound out of it. I've gotten motorboating sub sounds, bees in a can treble and damn near everything else out of it, but I can't seem to recall any setting other than the stock SM sounds. The frequency range is just as erratic. I swear I've passed through the same setting 2 or 3 times and gotten different sounds each time.

The joysticks are actually way cooler than I was expecting them to be--I had originally intended to just use it as control knobs, but tweaking it is actually super fun and does make it easier to find sweet spots. The stick also makes it an extraordinarily viable noise synth, both for ocean sounds and pitches. It reacts especially strongly with the noise switch. If you have it set right and flick the noise switch on the second SM, you'll hear this weird oscillation that just slowly keeps rising in pitch until it goes super sonic.

The real enigma with this pedal though is the photo eye. I have no idea what the fuck it does and a lot of time it doesn't seem to do anything. Switching it on just seems to put the sound in God's hands. A lot the time covering it up seems to do nothing, but I've gotten it add this weird static in the treble frequencies and sometimes turning it off will completely change the sound. It's the most baffling thing I've ever seen in a pedal to date.

I sold off all my extra delays a few weeks ago, and I really can't function without a delay, so I have a beat to shit DD3 incoming. My Meet Maude is up in Canada being repaired

DD3 is pretty great. And it'll probably compliment Maude pretty well. Maude for swampy delay, dd3 for cold precise terminator from the future delay. :thumb:

Hope you're not missing El Cap too bad. Its in good hands.

Also, got my Accountant today. Never been so excited for a utility pedal before.

I also ended up buying a DD5 last night too
I'm not missing the El Cap that much. I honestly played guitar for the first time in 3 weeks on Thursday....

DD-3 is rad. It has a shittier AD/DA than the other DDs that saps the fidelity perfectly. It is still a clean delay but sits that much better in the mix.
