It was awesome.

Well done.

Went out this weekend on a run of shows. First one with the new 6x12s. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!! The rooms both sounded huge. Both shows only had kick and vocals mic'd up but it was so fucking loud and full. They don't sound as directional as the 5150 and Emperor cabs we have been using. Got tons of compliments on our tone. I also got told that I look like a shaved bear regurgitating a salmon when I sing which kinda rules I think. Last night in Jacksonville the Misfits were playing right down the street from us. Made me kinda nervous about the turnout at first, especially with us headlining with never having been there before. We did ok and played to about 40 people. The venue was on the smaller side and the room was filled out nicely. I wanna go back down there ASAP. Obligatory rig pics:

Walked in the door this morning and there was an Ape Blaster sitting on my counter. Just hooked it up and got to mess around with it for a few minutes. I can already tell it will be a keeper. I had a Super Hard on before and I liked it but it wasn't heavy enough. The AB reminds me of all the things I liked in the SHO with everything in it that I felt the SHO was lacking. Fuzz from hell but string clarity is paramount. Nice, thick and brighter (not harsh at all though) on one setting and flip the switch for even more fuzzed out low end. Can't wait to get this thing in the space to see how it goes in the full band setting. Haven't tried stacking it yet but I'm sure it will play nice.

That intro riff is super niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Definitely Doom enough for me.
Conky, looking good, my man. Glad the show went well.

I tried explaining this but it seems to have just confused them

haha.
How'd the gig go? How little room did you have?
"Meh, last nights show had more Santas"
The room was much better than the Photos we saw had indicated. Put the drums in front of the band on the floor and we had plenty of space. I really like doing this as it put's the drums out front IN the crowd, makes it more interactive for Ryder and lets the rest of us move a bit.
found a pic-

The show was incredible. A bit intimidating as there were a LOT of people who I consider to be among the best musicians the area has, in the audience. Never mind the bands on the bill who were all excellent. CFA, The Sun Giants and Stereo Creeps are definitely among the best, in the crowd we had members of Helms Alee, Lozen, Ex-gods, Mos generator, Raptor tractor, Deathed confessions, etc. At about the third song of the set I looked up and realized who was in the crowd up front and got a bit anxious haha.
"best show of the year" was a comment I kept hearing. A bit overwhelming. CFA played a monster set to close things out and the Crowd wouldn't let them stop. like 3 encores and in the end Reno (drummer) stood up, dropped his sticks and just started saying "Thats it! we're done! no mas!" I think he was pretty gassed.
Sore as hell today but I wish we were doing it again tonight.
Least Blurry photo of CFA from last night. Dudes are Ironmen. No idea how they have that much energy.

This is excellent. Save me a copy when you guys put it out!

On the iPad, so i can't suss the soundcloud links.
I'll check it out later on when I'm home.
Wanted to post a big catch up, but that's too hard on this thing as well.
Conky, the AB, I find, really likes a clean amp with some brightness and the presence dialed up. The clarity is fucking unbelievable.
It sounds nice on a warm and dark amp, but I think it really shines with some sparkles on the clean side. Your other guitarist's music man there would fucking love it. As would the clean channel on your soldano.
So you got heaps of options with it for recording tones.
My 2c.

yeah pope's on it with that. It sounds good through a darker amp as well, but letting it do the heavy lifting in front of a clean head is so good.
The bright not harsh clarity you mentioned really punches. That's what D killed with the AB. Just nailed it. It's a ballsy, huge, cutting tone without any of the ice picky shit I hate so much.
and DAMN do those rigs look good.

Yeah, Darren made a fucking unicorn when he put that thing together. Just so fucking good.
I'm super jealous of everyone's rigs right now.
Really hoping I can grow mine over the next twelve months or so.
