Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Thanks guys! I'm using this setup for now because I just graduated, have no job, and had to sell stuff.
I'm really happy with how it sounds, though.
That Polypus is a custom one. It's setting the times on the memory man and the behringer, and the expression's controlling the tap ratio on the polypus. It also has an lfo output, soon that'll control the exp-in on the BitQuest. Soon...

That is some beautiful chaos! And that Polypus looks craaaaazy. In the best way possible. They're not normally that big, are they?

Geez, time flies. Congrats on graduating dude!
No better way to celebrate than syncing that lfo to the BQ - must be sick!!

Thanks! I'm glad to be done, but I'd be happier if I had a job. Some synced laser sounds make everything better, though!

Its the reissue, running in to a dirty amp it act's like a fuzzier treble booster. Pretty low gain but sounds very 60s.
There's a tone stack mod I planned on doing thats supposed to make it bassier but I kind of like it as it is.

ChetMagongalo wrote:If I were you I would get rid of your switcher and condense your 4 (lol you have 4!!) expression pedals by getting an expressionator or something similiar. then you'd have room for more pedals!
The Octa-Switch makes life so much easier, and transitions so much smoother, I wouldn't really want to play a gig without it, going from it's seamless to manual stepped switching/bypassing pedals would just feel too sloppy now, although I am considering 'upgrading' to one with a smaller footprint. Considering the expressionator and such, I could downsize to 3 exp. pedals, but I really tend to agree with what Kbithecrowing wrote; I sometimes just need that amount of control. I use at least 2 of the 4 per gig depending on the setlist. Also, between the two Moogerfoogers there's 9 expression inputs availabe, so using 'only' half of them doesn't seem too extravagant to me, especially considering that before I got the MF104 delay all 4 of them were hooked up to the phaser, and we have played sets where all 4 were used while hooked up to solely the phaser. Currently, 3 go in the phaser (amount/rate/reso) and 1 goes in the delay (feedback). FYI, the EQD Pitch Bay also goes into the delay as fb insert; I use it to simultaneously pitch shift the repeats up and down one semitone without the root, so the voices climb up/down the chromatic scale as the repeats go on. I haven't found a practical use for this yet in a song, but that's only a matter of time as it sounds deliciously crazy

I've considered that, and might do it in the future, but with the pedalboard alone already being 100cm/~40inches wide, playing venues with smaller stages would become quite challenging, if not impossible. Our guitarist already kinda has this problem sometimes with his board + Roland PK-5 foot controller. I do have plans to regain some board real-estate by replacing both the Bass Muff & µPOG with their Nano versions when the Nano Pog is finally released, and I'm thinking about replacing the Moog phaser with the Chase Bliss Wombtone because of the waaay smaller footprint, but I'm not sure if the Wombtone would go slow enough for some of my needs. Another option I have is stacking some of the smaller pedals that I don't tweak live & are in the Octa's loops by creating a second level with some wood or sheet metal, the lid should be deep enough for this, but I'm not really a confident wood or metal worker and wouldn't really know how to attach the second level to the main board in a reliable but reversible way.
All in all the conclusion is that I really need to rethink my entire fx set-up sometime in the near future, and I've only been using this version of the board since about mid October 2014

Ev_O))) wrote:This is nice, and I think you will find the El Cap to smash the Panther Cub. You need to get that catalinbread antichthon on there with everything else mate, how have you found it?
Yeah, I had an El Cap for a year or two before but sold it when I moved to the Timeline. I can't see a reason why the Cub would beat the Capistan, but I'll compare the two just for posterity.
The Antichthon... well, I'm actually returning it. It's just too much for me to handle - and this coming from the guy who has never been overwhelmed by a pedal that's "too tweakable". If there were a better variety of standard fuzz tones in it, I'd probably keep it, but I just can't find a good use for all of the crazy noises it makes. I think that I may get a Blackout Effectors Fuzz Bear at some point instead, as it seems like it has a bunch of awesome fuzz tones while also oscillating like a crazy fuck on crack. In the mean time though, I sold the MXR because it was too scooped for my taste. I replaced it with a Klone I had sitting around and I'm using that money to buy a Ramble FX Twin Bender. I've never had a Ge bender before and I've heard this one is great, so I'm excited.
