Jesus christ.

Also thankfully never had a wallet chain, thought about it and then decided it was not wise to get one.

Damn Timm thats pretty freakin Gnar. I feel your pain though. In 2001 I was in a car accident except I hit the back of the driver seat, not the window, forcing my glasses into my eyebrow and shattering my left orbital eye socket. Got 9 stitches in my eyebrow (which is now completely immobile, and asymmetrical to the other side), and had to have a 3.75" rectangular plate installed to repair the hole in my skull as well as a 2.5" long crack up my forehead that took 7 bolts to keep in there, and then to top it off the surgery to install the plate left me with what they call a halo scar which is a scar about an inch behind my hairline that goes from ear to ear over my head and took 56 staples to close up. They literally had to peel my face off my skull to do the surgery... That's fucking metal.

I wish you a speedy and full recovery my friend.

Tim, that sounds and looks painful as fuck, hope the recovery is as quick and painless as possible :thumb:

Luckily never been in a car accident but when I was 3 or 4 I was dancing and tripped and cracked my skull open on the fire place in my home. Had to get somewhere around 100 stitches as my skull was just fucked up. Even being so young I remember riding in the back of my parents Jeep sobbing on the way to the hospital and how they had to restrain me. I don't really remember much else from that age but that day is just a fixture in my brain. Now my scar is almost gone. Looking back I feel so bad for just scaring the shit out of my parents, must have been really horrible for them.

Drunk driver hit me when I was 20. Spent 21st b-day convalescing. Broke L1 and L2 in my lower back. Wore a back brace for almost two years.

It was not awesome.

We have bad luck with injuries it seems. While not as bad as some of you, I was hit head on in Feb '11 and then hit again in March '11 believe it or not. As a result I have a permanent bulged disc in neck that puts pressure on my nerve, causing pain down my arm into my fingers on the worst days. I couldn't play guitar for a year while I went to the chiropractor and physical therapy. Lifting heavy objects is difficult or not possible for the heavier stuff. Gotta be careful when playing guitar as well still. If I lean forward too much it flares up the pain.

Thanks guys. At 7 surgeries it's almost routine.

Yeah, it works it's way out sometimes, but these are big pieces that were deep in my scar tissue. I just pointed them out before the surgery. It hurt so bad because it's like finding gravel in ground beef. It's easiest just to cut out the area.

I'll show a picture when it's better. Like I said, allot of people don't notice it. It's just super swollen.

Speakers that will break up quickly, but won't have their backdoors smashed in by a 120w Matamp?

Starting to dislike the Swamp Thangs and Governors I've got. STs are too clean and Govs are too sharp for what I'm after.

Going to sell 4 STs off, and see how the combination cab works when it arrives, but backup suggestions?

Damn. All dat surgery and here I am buying new guitars....

Image

a mint condition '72 Fender Telecaster Custom. It was hanging at a shop that I stopped in at and listed at used $425. Couldn't resist. Listings on the bay say that I got a pretty favorable deal for something that was used. I checked for a blemish or a scuff but fuck this thing doesn't even have a fucking scratch on the pick guard. I probably played it in the shop for a good 45 minutes before stating, "Um. i would like to make a huge mistake and purchase this guitar."

Fuck it.

Also played the Squire Antigua Baritone. Neck was nice-ish but seemed to have a lot of marking in the binding around the neck. It played well. I love the ugly ass finish but think that it needs a black pick guard. That said -- the position of the pickup selector switch sucks if you want to play in the neck position. I bumped it every time I switched to neck position. That said.... I'm not EXACTLY sure how the body was routed but it does seem like there's a hollow space under the pick guard in the lower bout. I probably would have bought it if the telecaster weren't hanging on the shelf.

Looks like they did a hell of a job with the reconstruction. thats gotta be pretty awful though. it's hard to not move your head and you got some decent swelling going on there. Enjoy those meds man. Hope you are at least getting a little convalescent time to spend riffing.
