The FZ2 is the pedal I've owned the longest at this point and I'm pretty sure I'll never get rid of it. Perfect fuzz and a super useful boostbackwardsvoyager wrote:yeah dude try a superfuzz derivative. the only fuzzes i've straight up loved were the Boss FZ-2 and ss/bs BUZZZ.
i still need to try more circuits to have a somewhat valuable opinion on the matter but that circuit kills on guitar or bass. FZ-2 for chainsaw death and BUZZZ for versatility and ability to clean up.
everything else i've tried has just been too muddy or brittle in my setup.

I do also admit that with bass, fuzz is generally not the "go to" sound. Aside from stacking into Elements
but I do not count Huge Box II as fuzz

I make pedal demos as East Stomp Boutique - http://www.youtube.com/c/eaststompboutique

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
so anybody know of any delay/reverb or maybe even other types of pedals (multifx?), that have a kill dry button on the outside? only one i've found so far is the nova repeater.

The hardwire delay and reverb (maybe supernatural too?) have a trails switch underneath the stomp. The M5/9/13 have a true bypass/buffered selection in a menu. Not sure if that's directly accessible enough?Dr. Sherman Sticks M.D. wrote:so anybody know of any delay/reverb or maybe even other types of pedals (multifx?), that have a kill dry button on the outside? only one i've found so far is the nova repeater.

He means to actually kill the dry signal completely, not just for access to trails. Ive never seen that on a delay aside from the repeater.

There's a mod for the Boss DD-5 that does that, mine has it, works great.

Use a delay with two outs and an A/B switch?

TC HOF (so presumably all the other Toneprint delay/verb) has internal switching for buffered all wet available. You have to take off the back panel so it's not really performance switchable. Yamaha Magicstomp has a front-panel mix knob, but you will probably need make-up gain for full wet in most cases.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
hey thanks yall for the input!
saw the kill dry toggle mod for the DD5, but didn't want to hassle w/ getting it modded, and don't think i have the skills to do it myself (from what i read, its small SMD type components? analogman made it seem like it wouldn't be for me).. so ended up scooping a nova repeater. really needed the button on the outside so I can mess w/ it live for DJ style cuts and delay FX.
yay!
i also found this delay reverb combo pedal that looks pretty sweet, but i don't think the dude makes them anymore.

The Nova Repeater looks awesome... Is the loop the kind that needs a y cable? I really want to put a ring mod in it

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
theres a loop on the repeater?
edit: oh i think i know what u are talking about. the HI input that says FX LOOP?
i thought the same thing too, but its actually just telling you that the HI input is for if u want to plug the repeater into and use it in an FX Loop, where as the LO input is for plugging your guitar in direct.
