Am I supposed to be playing all those skinny strings way at the end?

SLK: nice score on the guitar...so what are you going to do with the extra string?? ;)

ain't decided. I already have a 7 string set up with an extra high. so I might go on and take this 8 and set it up with the extra low and extra high. or maybe I'll do a band call the Djentist.

But really it's not any particular sig line. I think it's just a run of a mill one. I plan on using it to do some two handed skronky death metal ala Gorguts during Obscura era. Also might do so some Timeghoul stuff with it.

also did a soundtest of the Peavey today

I'm still catching up a bit after being sick at the start of the week, but that new whores track was badass.
The other thing I failed to mention before was how poon SLKs new 8 string looks. Fucking sweet dude.

I'll defend Meshuggah. I really don't give a shit if people don't think they arent doom enough or that whole " fuck djent" thing, whatever. They're a fucking awesome band that makes fucking awesome, heavy music. They're great live.
I know there are some other peeps in here that feel the same way about heavy stuff. Tempo is just a thing. Feels is where it's at.
Carnivorous, screaming, ambient dental drill, machine metal gets my feels.
Skip is right though, it's kinda stupid a whole bunch of bands sprung up around them.
Also, skip, get that ibanez. I posted one of the icemen Meshuggah had made for them a while back. On the page it was linked to there were a heap of their other customs from ibanez and a Swedish builder. Some very rad stuff on there indeed. All beautiful guitars with that same very simple aesthetic. Another reason I like those guys. They don't fuck around with shiht that looks flashy or "metal". They just punish.
Just google Meshuggah guitars skip and you should find it. (maybe you could get a Swedish custom built :poke: ?)

Ryry, on the subject of machines making art, you should incorporate some of your power tools in the dungeon into some dangers field stuff.

Thanks Iommic, I like Meshuggah up to Nothing. and Nothing was alright and that I ep. but really I lost interest in their single note songs that stretch forever. they are alright but not enough for me to listen to but occassionally. it seems that they just make a groove and repeat it for the whole song.

older stuff was more interesting and song like to me. and really I never got how so many people thought they were super tech. they aren't everything is in 4/4 listen to the drummer up top he's keeping a 4/4 while the riffs sorta move about. They actually explained it in an article with metal maniacs. they don't even get why they are considered tech and have all these weird timings. they always said... no we throw in weird add ons to riffs so it sounds like they change time.. they don't they are all in 4/4

^^^ Yeah, the drums are in 4/4, but the guitars and bass are playing a 7-beat riff three times with a three-beat tag at the end to make the meter line up, or some shit like that. It's like the next-level version of "Jesus Built My Hotrod."

That's my sad-ad

AHHHH! Don't do it! Think how STRONG you will be in a year if you keep it. No gym membership needed. :animal:

That's exactly what I've been doing - I live 3 floors up, no elevators and I have to carry two cabs down stairs and two heads every week for rehearsal.
It's so worth it!

according to them it's not and when I listen I tend to agree. first time hearing any of their stuff I was able to mimmick it perfectly on both guitar and bass.

and to goldfish... death metal is summed up with JCM800... not MesaBoogie cause you listening to the wrong stuff then.

You do realize that your statement and mine are not mutually exclusive, right?
