really stoked so far on how it's going. we haven't recorded in a long time and are a much better band now. and this is a much better recording. a modest studio, but a killer engineer. which is certainly better than a really nice studio with a less than awesome engineer, as i've learned. dude has made some really good sounding records and i've been really really happy so far with what we've gotten with him.
lookin' like a nice little setup in there.
I agree, good engineer will go a lot further than a bunch of great gear and a wonderful studio with somebody who hasn't a clue about any of the ins and outs.
^^^ Very true. A good engineer can make mediocre equipment sound quite decent.

Misterstomach: thats looks like a lot of fun...good luck with the recording
SLK: nice score on the guitar...so what are you going to do with the extra string??

Summit: that video was awesome...they could make a full length movie or big machines crushing shit and i would happy sit on the couch in my underwear with some beer, jerky and potato crisps watching it

Whats the going rate for a used Emperor 4x12 cab? I'm gonna sell one of mine to fund a 6x12 and have no fucking idea about used prices on them.
mainly see them go for 500. well at least asked for 500 when they pop up.
also this happened today

Yeah that's the typical going price for a used one.
Interesting...... I've thought about an 8 string since it basically the same tuning I currently use but in a standard style tuning. But the one I want is pricey and a sig model that would probably get me banned from here hahahah

Is it some kind of ibanez and its a sig model of someone in periphery or other djent band??!
I wouldn't mind an 8 string...just to fuck around with...ibanez makes an lp type one...but they all have active pickups, which i don't like

It is an Ibanez.......
The Meshuggah sig model the M80M...

It just has all the features I want.... single bridge pickup with single volume / tone control... visible wood grain body... long ass scale for my big hands... really wicked bridge design thats basically a fixed floyd trem..... and it just looks bad ass..... but... its the Meshuggah sig model....
I had an agile intrepid 8 string for a while that was pretty bad ass, it had a passive duncan custom shop pickup that was aight. Agile I believe is making / in the process of making a LP style 8 string as well, but like you I hate active pickups. Luckily more and more pickup manufacturers are making replacement pickups that fit in active pickup routes, but thats more money you have to spend....
*edit* here's the agile:
