Roto's are sweet.
Based off the love it gets around here, I finally picked up a Naga Viper. Seems like its definitely best before other dirt. Diggin it for adding clarity when venturing up the neck. So I'm just wondering how you guys use it. where you put it in the chain, settings etc..

the rangemaster. Supposedly it's a bit more versatile. I have no idea as this is my first experience with either. A treble boost just always seemed counterintuitive but I kept hearing more and more good things about it. I kinda get it now, adds a nice sound to things and tightens up the overall sound.

Treble boosters/brighter overdrives are awesome for doom.

Should I buy a used Orange OR15 for $425? Is 15 watts loud enough for rehearsals/small gigs?

Just came back from their show in NOLA last night. Opening act was interesting, like they magically found a band that played Spaghetti Western rock/blues like Earth, but differently. This is of course, assuming that King Dude is the opener at your show. Earth were spot on, but I was disappointed that Lanegan wasn't there for vocals (there weren't any vocals at all, come to think of it) but understand that he has some health issues that make roadwork difficult.

I like my clone because it can go up to full range boost and fuzzish with the grit knob. Definitely a pusher for sure though. I think people are maybe afraid they'll lose low end if they use a treble booster, I think the only way that would happen is if you actually ran the pedal in the FX loop. Otherwise it's just pushing the high end / upper mids.

I like mine.

It might be depending on your drummer and whether or not you need cleans. I find that I wish for my old AOR 30 when I want to just dime the MV when jamming, but if I want to hammer the preamp and get super saturated I prefer my AOR 50 or 100.

V4 is awesome
Never played flats, but always keep a wound G on my guitars.
Jelly that Skip gets to see Earth. Double jelly that he won tickets.
I'd hit an OR15 for $425.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited. It is with king dude but I'll unfortunately miss his set due to band practice but were ending early so me and our vocalist can catch the show. Kinda upset that Lanegan won't be there but we'll be elevated enough to enjoy it instrumental.

Nice ones skip!
Am I insane to want a bass vi with drone strings to get some standard guit range in there?
Am I more insane to want to put a Ric 4001 pup in the bridge and run stereo out to bass and guit amps?
Could I even get a 4001 style wound to the extra neck width?
Would this even work?
Should I just fucking do it anyway?

Someone should really buy one of those sovteks in bst. So clean. If I had money laying around I would have snatched up that 100 watt.
