I'm going to quit therapy. I feel significantly worse after every session, and I've tried switching therapists several times.

Let's see if I can piss more people off..

I had to take a dump at work, so I go into the bathroom and pull up a shitter, and start working.. And then a dude comes in and of course sits in the closest stall. So he's one of those dudes constantly clears his throat, but it's not a real full throat clear. It's just a little mini one like "mmm" and he does it every 5 seconds or less. So I'm trying to leave a deposit in peace and this dudes over here "mmm ... mmm.... mmm... mmm.. mmm.."
:mad:

Super annoying.

Maybe I'm just an asshole.

^^^It's not you. That's a common thing. I on the other hand, have no shame. I've dumped out in places most couldn't even in their worst nightmares...Penn Station is a highlight. Clogged the toilet on a fishing trip once. There are many more stories. In my late teens are early 20's I used to be pretty (eh...very) obnoxious in the bathroom when I was dumping out.

Good for you. Don't go if it's only adding more aggravation to your life. I'm VERY skeptical of psycho-analysis so pardon my bias. That said, I read a lot about it (starting some Jung tonight incidentally but his genius is transferable to many other facets of life.)

Hope things are going well for you otherwise Mr. Friendship :hug:

I think you may have IBS.

This is not a criticism; please continue pushing.

Also a fan of Jung; also think psychoanalysis is kinda silly. I used to work with in a department 'famed' for its psychoanalytic faculty, and told a room full of them I thought Freud was a 'fucking mystic.' It went badly for me.
CSPC at U Buffalo wrote:The Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Culture (CSPC) is a trans-disciplinary center housed within the University at Buffalo English Department and supported by the department in conjunction with the Dean's Office of the College of Arts and Sciences. The Center is devoted to preserving and developing the radical dimension of the Freudian discovery. We understand—

The unconscious to be without territory (thus resistant to dominant strategies of appropriation and colonization);
The clinic or practice of psychoanalysis to consist of symbolic interventions aimed at treating the real (and thus antithetical to the drug-peddling and pastoral practices of today's "health professions" whose purpose is the sedation of subjects);
Critique to be necessarily immanent (thus opposed to the historicist distortion, which makes history a meta-reality).
I'm all for academic nonsense, but this is total bullshit.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

If it's not helping then it's just a waste of time, money, and could make things worse. Have you tried anything else? Weight lifting, painting, going for walks in nature, etc?

Thanks for the support dudes. I try as much as I'm able to do the healthy lifestyle choices: I go for long walks regularly, very conscious of what I eat, try to engage with friends when I'm feeling isolated, and take my medication every day. I put in the work, but the truth is I've always lived with chronic depression and statistically speaking, I likely always will. Everyone always tells you to reach out for help with stuff like this, but no one says what you're supposed to do when help fails.

Thanks for listening.

IKTFB. :group: For me exercising was key - it naturally releases dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin, so if I miss more than a few days of working out I'm fucked. Eating clean helped as well, as the crashes from eating processed and sugary foods made things worse. Keep at it, depression is a bitch, so make it yours instead of the other way around.

Took a little less than two hours before I got one of the spam responses asking to buy some stuff off me. For about 13 seconds I was stoked because an amp was going to sell so fast. :grumpy:

Nah local listing trying to do the paypal scam.
Pretty loud though, stays clean right to the top but can still be drowned out by a cranked Meatsmoke.
