Best beer ever. Not up for discussion.

Also IPA's are usually high ABV. You definitely drink them to get drunk. You drink all beer to get drunk. Unless you're one of those people who don't ever sully their palettes with anything and don't have any fun at all.

Guilty.

Nah, I drink plenty, but I haven't been drunk in years. Hate it. You know the way some people say they almost lose themselves and become more fun and stuff? Well, I'm the opposite. I become totally self-aware, so much so that I become scared and want to hide away from everything and close my eyes. I don't like it.

Also, Theakston is great. It's found on tap where I grew up in most pubs. Awesome from draught or bottle.

Tons of great beer outta the UK although newjack beer geeks who are only interested in hop bombs and sours may disagree. Most stuff by Samuel Smith rules, especially their stouts. And if you are ever at a bar that serves English Pale Ale out of a hand pumped cask you gotta try it. Velvety and smooth.

Hobgoblin tastes like death.

I think they make decent stuff. Their ginger beer is interesting pint. You can find a couple at Aldi here in Ireland for just over €2 a pint.

Wychcraft is great, Hobgoblin i tried and it tastes like pure shitty, muddy bitterness, nothing else.

i've seen that one for sale somewhere. i'll keep an eye out for sure.

Hobgoblin and Brew Dog especially are fantastic. BD is actually one of, if not the, fastest growing business in the UK right now.

Your tastebuds have super herpes and lepracy.

New Mastodon is making me sad on the inside. Whoever said they were trying to be like Rush is on to something.

IPAs are super popular, but I know several people who can't stand them. I like them, but I like most kinds of beer. I'm currently very pumped about all of the seasonal stouts that will be hitting the shelves soon.

Skip - the 'style' of cheap beer is usually a pilsner, and there are some really tasty pilsners out there too. Other types you make like are any sort of lager (Bocks are included in that) as well as Cream Ales or Steam/Cali Common ales, which are ales brewed to be similar to lagers.

Noted! I do love me a good Belgian beer, Delerium's stuff is top notch and I've also had one called Lucifer that was divine. I've had a few bocks as well that I enjoyed. I'll keep an eye out for the Stone one as we definitely have their stuff around here.

If you can find some, definitely give Unibroue a try. Their Belgians are top notch, and more decently priced as a high quality beer.

A well-made IPA is so dangerously crushable and sessionable though... Pliny The Elder and Heady Topper are amazing, in part because they're so easy to drink for 8% beers

I haven't drank any beer in a few years at all, but I never like IPA at all. My wife and a lot of my friends kept making me try it. Same as with green beans, a lot of "THIS one will change your mind!". Nope, not still gross and I hate what I am tasting, please make it go away forever. I generally like Belgian ales or similar. Golden, brown, amber, red. Occasionally I have enjoyed a hefeweizen or a stout, depending on the mood, the weather and what I was eating. I generally don't like extremely sweet or bitter stuff. Most of my friends have seemed to favor either, in the form of IPA or Stone/Rogue type brews that I'm not into. I tasted a tiny bit of Unibroue Trois Pistoles that my wife bought last week and it wasn't my typical preference, but kinda tasty. I do kind of miss beer, flavor wise, but no interest at all in drinking alcohol anymore.

But yeah, always hated IPA. Too bitter, not enjoyable to me. I hate the attitude of "don't be a pussy!" when it comes to beer flavors. There's enough out there to pick something that tastes great to everyone. If I was going to drink just to get drunk, there's plenty of cheap midwest American brews that are unremarkable but inoffensive to my mouth. Drinking beer just to get wasted is inefficient anyway though.

Erdinger is pretty good, too.
