Sorry, Strange.

I've watched a few relatives suffer, it is horrifying. Then I got to that place where I wish wishing them dead already so the pain would stop, so we can mourn instead of being just stuck in a sad limbo. It is hard to watch other people grieve for weeks while someone is deemed "any day" by the hospice staff. My point is that maybe it is for the best that he went so quick.

So like once a month or usually once every 2 months me and the little lady (she's 6'1") go to Wal-Mart and stock up on shit like boxed rice and toilet paper and light bulbs etc.. Well today in front of us was a dude and his daughter and they looked pretty down on their luck, dirty and shabby etc, girl was probably 8. They ring up 192$ worth of manure and then the cashier informs that the food card has 52 cents on it. And the EBT cash card has 33 cents on it. It took so long to ring all that shit up. And then they just push the cart aside. Then, halfway through ringing my order up, the girl comes back and starts asking the cashier if she can have parts of it, but she's mumbling so old boy who's ringing me up literally just stops and starts talking to her..

So fucking irritating.

And the worst part is the girl is probably hungry. They won't get their EBT money till tomorrow. Wal-Mart is always crazy the first couple days of the month.

Top 3 things I hate when dealing with people:
  1. Being ignored.
  2. Lack of communication.
  3. Being late.
Somehow, it seems that all three always happen simultaneously when trying to meet up with other musicians. :whateva:

I don't mean to be a dick here, but you're irritated that a hungry kid made you wait in line a few minutes longer so that she could *maybe* get some of the food they need.

I know this is the mild irritation thread, but fuck man.

Nah that's not what I meant. I was irritated by the whole thing, then the girl came back and asked for merchandise (candy) for free. And I was irritated that her dad didn't have money to buy her food.

Also their cart wasn't full of nutritious stuff for a developing body and mind, it was all prepared shit and candy and sugary cereal and all that.

I was irritated that I get my kid 6 days a month and bust my ass to provide for him and make sure that he has what he needs, and that this dude has money for cigarettes by the smell of him, but no food for his kid.

It was just overall all irritating.

I get that it is irritating to see that stuff and kind of embarrassing to watch. But there are a lot of reasons (big cultural ones, as well as personal details) that make those shitty situations possible and terribly common. I just don't like judging poor people for the tiny sliver of their lives you see at fucking Walmart.

No, that just sounds sad. But most stores are irritating and I assume walmart is too, but as I haven't been in one for 20 years I cannot say for sure.

Yeah, that’s just sad and probably super embarrassing for them both. I could see being annoyed with the dad for buying cigs before food for his kid but the girl probably doesn’t know any different/better. I probably would have broken down and let them put a few things on my tab. :idk:

What’s irritating is when you get to the check out and the lady in front of you pulls out a trapper keeper full of coupons and then scans the receipt like she’s trying to crack a secret code.

Countless times, after waiting patiently for far too long, I have wanted to scream “Here...here’s the fucking 30¢! Please, just get fuck out of here so I can get on with my life!”

And they're all 3 months expired but she insists that they should work and the cashier keeps trying to explain they don't and she goes full "can I speak to a manager" but the cashier is the manager and all hell breaks loose.

Yeah man it was sad. It irritated me that it was so fucking sad. Like I said, the girl is probably hungry.

Yeah coupons are the worst.
