Got this Demon King in the mail today. This thing is just what the doctor ordered. Left switch is the on/off, right monetary feedback, gate is the toggle switch, and also has a clean blend. I had a demon that was all this - the feedback, but it was the smaller enclosure and I'd stomp both at least once per show. I was going to send it back to get the gate switch disconnected in the always on position, but then Ron posted this over at Talkbass. I'm happy.
The Meatsmoke is about to get kicked off the board. I run both channels clean always on so I never stomp it. Got a reverb on the way so I need the real estate.
Sooooo tasty.
Kicked off the board as in not used anymore or just relocating it off the actual board?

I come in here and feel awesome about being back down to a tuner and a fuzz.
Skip, is that a DMM or Electric Mistress or something else?
Behringer Vintage Time Machine aka a cheap DMM clone

New acquisitions "board"...
I picked up the Big Spider off CL mostly because I've never tried one and figured it would jive well with the baritone I'm building (if not with guitar). Used to have a TAFM and sold it dumbly, so I searched this one out.
HOLY SHIT! These two hang so well together! I forgot how useful clean blend on the Team Awesome is, and with the Tone switch on the Big Spider I get so damn much versatility...

Kicked off, like sitting on my headcase. Really should have bought the rack, but since I had it built, couldn't justify the extra $200 price.

I gotcha. I decided if I ever got into bass again I'd build a rack system around the rack version. Cause then I'd have a bad ass preamp and could add on power amps and cabs as necessary so I could have as small or as big of a rig as I wanted. If you decide to let it go I might be interested once my tax return comes in, I really wanted a skyhammer pre again but this would probably do me just fine.

Yeah that's how I built mine. Biggest plus is that the tone is consistent whether it's at 1 or 10. I want to know it'll sound the same when I'm pushing it. I love my SVT, but I'll probably never gig with it. Actually contemplating getting rid of it and getting something in the 100w or less category. I'm thinking a B-15 or V4B.
I'll keep that in mind if I ever get rid of it. It really does sound awesome and thick. I actually never use the overdrive on it. Just both channels with the gain really low on the 2nd. It's super thick and full with none of the sterility you get with SS stuff.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:So I'm kinda pondering going with a full clean board, as in no dirt boxes at all... as I kinda wanna start learning how to play americana / bluegrass kinda stuff (think steve von till, scott kelly and the road home, Earth, etc etc...). I'd need a good compressor, an EB volume pedal, and a good but not over the top reverb....

If I were getting a verb for a dedicated clean board and wasn't happy with what I had, I'd be looking real hard at the sub decay spring theory. That thing sounds so great. I actually prefer the hall setting over the spring, but you should check one out if you can. I was blown away by the one I played. Particularly for clean stuff. I didn't mess with it with dirt much.

If your going for 100w your gonna need a really efficient cab otherwise your gonna be wanting more.
Sounds good! Yeah I was really impressed by the skyhammer pre, like you said no sterility and really thick and crunchy tone.

Before I get any more pedals I wanna get a new drum kit and maybe one more cymbal. If you think guitar is expensive drums is fucking ridiculous..... especially shipping ANYTHING drum related...
I'll keep that in mind though!!! I was thinking of just picking up a holy grail nano and calling it a day.

I mean for a home setup. Nah I'm not getting rid of the poweramp for live.

Played some music for the first time in forever with real people a little while ago. Miss it. I'll still shit on everyone for doing nothing to advance the genre but riffing out on Electric Machine like it was 2005 again was pretty fucking awesome.

Most recent board. Whetstone will be leaving me after like six years of dutiful service...kinda sad to see it go. Twosome is back on board so I can get reacquainted with the Musket and give the Fix'd one last try before putting it in the BST.
The Grand Orbiter continues to be the cat's pajamas. I tried the Vibrato mode...not really for me, but cool that it's there, I guess.

I think Matt (t0thesun) is selling his Nano Grail. He just got a custom job with a reverb, phaser and feedback loop in one enclosure so he was gonna get rid of it.

Depending on how much he wants I would definitely be interested.
