i was very clear with the reasoning why i closed the thread in the final post of the thread.

you are welcome to escalate your complaint to **** or ****** - i welcome their review. i would suggest ***** since he's also a moderator in the effects forum and has a better bead on the pulse of that forum than i may have.

in the meantime i'd suggest you start another thread that isn't predicated on slagging a piece of gear directly to share what i have no doubt is very valuable information regarding alternatives to the sansamp products.
Here is my whiny response.

Hey, I appreciate your response. :D

Just to be clear, that thread was not about "slagging" a product or company. So as you can see, I disagree with your posted reasoning. I am big enough to agree to disagree.

Beyond that, I also think that when and if I do start a new thread as you suggest, I will be attacked for doing so by the same members who didn't get the point of the thread at all. IE those who kneejerked their assumptions and biases all up in it... with nothing to add but their own insecurity, thus derailing my constructive (and humorous if I do say so myself) attempt to find and share alternatives.

And if that does happen, will you be willing to step in and defend my right to start a new thread with the intention of providing what I see as a valuable and necessary balance to the effects forum? Maybe they would listen to you, seeing as how they refuse to keep their own bias in check when I ask them to.

John, I am not interested in "escalating" anything.
You closed the thread, you didn't delete it. I can live with that because I believe I have to. I don't honestly think one moderator won't support another's decision. Maybe I am wrong. But as long as its there to be read for what it is worth, I am fine starting a new thread, realistically that seems to be the only choice I have.

Again, now that your hat is in the ring, why not stick up for my right to have an opinion and to post about it (which I do without malice or with the intent somehow harming the community)? I would appreciate that immensely.

Judging by recent posts looks like it was reopened then closed again by *****. So your assumption that one mod would support another is spot on. In all honesty the mod has admin backup sooooo,...I'm not surprised.

I dunno, regardless or your intentions, the only likely outcome of the thread on TB was hurt feelings and pissed off people. (I know people should sack up, but unfortunately that's just not the spirit of Talkbass).

Tis a sad but accurate assessment of TB,...too many people just waiting to be offended,...no original or critical thinking and any original or radical thought is stomped out by moderation/TOU.

FWIW I was never offended by any moderation action or infractions towards me,...I just found it laughable and petty for the most part.
