Regarding the difference between 'Stress' and 'Agitation' (I think I actually meant 'Irritation' tbh), 'stress' I associate with a 'deliverable' where as 'irritation' does not have one. Below is one example. Please note I am not a scholar, I am a Soy Boy so I would disregard everything.
NSFW: show
S_0_1 -> "I am stressed because my boss wants these ad hoc reports done by tomorrow. I have explained to my boss multiple times that our developers have not migrated all of the data for the agreed upon metrics ergo I cannot pull these reports. My Boss is going to hold me personally accountable if this is not done, even though, I can't start my end of the project"

S_0_2 ->"This customer always comes in and argues his bottle of Scotch went up in price. I find this 'irritating' because 1. The customer's tone and candor 2. This happens every time he shops here and 3. It's a bottle of fucking Dewar's which has had an inelastic price of $49.03 per half gallon since 1999."

In the first case there is a deliverable assigned that you are held accountable for where as in the second case, a customer is just being a jerk and the problem at hand has no effect on your employment.

In the first case a deliverable is assigned and you are being held accountable hence 'stress'. In the second case, some old asshole just isn't with the times and being annoying. You don't make the price of items in the store and his complaints about said item have no effect on your employment as a store clerk.
Oh man I'm in S_0_1 type situations all the time.

Urgh.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a city employed trash collector at this point. Most of the private contractors are huge national companies at this point. The company that picks up our garbage in NE Ohio is the same one that did it in California.

i've made my job work for me. i wear earplugs, blast my spotify playlist through a pair of near field monitors i commandeered from pro audio, i always run through the bypass of my strobe tuner into a cranked up 15 watt bass amp while i'm setting up and intonating guitars (just to be as annoying as possible), and go get high af on every break i take.

I thought about bringing bourbon in my coffee but that won't probably work out what with driving and such.

Lately I have been hiding, I am in an office right next to the owner and he yells at our QA a ton, and I get roped into the meetings both to translate (english to english just QA to normal person) and to be part of the anger, so when I see the QA walk by my office I go to projects.
Today I have a timecard machine to fix, and am going to review our scrap materials.
I was getting migraines from it where I couldn't see so hiding seems like a good solution.
On one hand, I'm really sad you are in that situation. You deserve better.
On the other hand, I can hook you up with the bombest of bourbons, if you like.

since it's guitar center, it makes it tolerable at best. but i'm not in the stressed camp as i don't have to put up with unrealistic bullshit i will get crucified for. i'm in the irritable camp due to shitty customers, coworkers, etc.

i really don't have any advice for those working in corporate situations.

This is very similar to the parenting style of my early childhood.

Regarding the people crushing my dreams of becoming a garbage man: I think there might be a difference in wages and benefits etc. over here vs murica.

Presumably Danish garbage collectors are all granted some sort of low level Baronet title and a well appointed cottage, by the Ministry of Refuse or the Duke of Rubbish or what have you.

I would make an addendum to my 'very generalized criteria' and say 'high volume of agitation' will eventually add up to 'stress'.

Not (technically) corporate, but I would like some advice, anyway. Just general life advice, maybe?
