I'm a functional doom, rock, punk, and black metal player, never been quick enough to pull off good death or accurate at speed for thrash... I can play most guitar parts on a bass so I assume I'm a functional bassist for a band. Drums I'm terrible but just starting so I can't be in your trio yet but I'll work on that.

Honestly, a homie of mine (actually a supreme drummer) wanted me to fly out to Maine and record a "Christian prog rock" album so we can just rake in enough dough to buy all the studio time and instruments we want. He said we wouldn't even have to be great, just good enough, play a festival or 2, and "christian" to pull it off... you 2 in?

i play a little bit of anything except for instruments that take real skill like piano or violin lol.

any chance i get to to play anything i know how to play proficiently enough for the band i'll take the opportunity. that was the deal with my doom band. too bad they weren't worth my time lol.

There's a guitar player on Craigslist that looks perfect as the Guy to my Ian but there's not enough room in our practice space for another person. Plus, my ego.

Loled irl at that, Neon...

But yep, I'm 38 and the struggle is real as fuck. Just recently got myself back into a good band, but we just had to let go of our drummer because he was basically too busy with life stuff for us. I'm terrified of what we'll find in the new search :duck:

The only thing I do lately is internet bands. I don't have the time anymore to work around schedules to play live or even practice. It's fine so far, I'm enjoying it, but I miss playing with people sometimes.

Also UPS lost the Macbook Pro I ordered with overnight shipping.

Also also I'm back in the hospital with my wife, she got sepsis during surgery recovery. No idea how long we'll be here. The office is gonna be a goddamn dumpster fire whenever I get back. Well, it's already a dumpster fire but I've managed to contain it; that duct tape and bailing wire isn't gonna hold for long though, but I'm past the point of caring. When the whole enterprise collapses I hope I'm there to look at the board and say "welp, told ya so. See ya."

If I die in my sleep I think I'll be ok with that.

Yeah my drummer mentioned that his wife might take a new job...in Ireland. He's the best drummer I've ever played with. He's 40 and he started when he was 8. He's literally been playing drums since before I was born.

So, looks like I'm moving to Ireland.

My mom is just went through this. They had to remove a large section of her large intestine and she was in the icu for a week. There were a ton of complications before that and she'd been sick for a while. I hope your wife is a simple in and out deal.

Well my drummer isn't moving to Ireland...just his wife is. Also she a compulsive liar. They've been together 11 years and he just found out last night that she's told him the truth about 10% of the time. He doesn't even actually know her. He's pretty fucked up about it understandably.

Poor dude.
