I really don't get why EGC are great at responding to emails promptly until they've received your deposit, then fail to respond to anything after that. I appreciate that having to be patient comes with the territory, but when you're told 6-8 weeks and it's been nearly four months, I don't think it's unfair or pestering to send an email asking what state my order's in. Bit disappointing that they can't take the 5 minutes out to let me know what's up but oh well, I guess :whateva:

some days when i get to work i really hate the people i work with and people in general. I work in such a fake industry.

then i head downstairs to get coffee and walk past the theater on the way...and there's a bunch of young school students waiting to go in for the early session of some play, and i look at the teachers...first thing that comes to my head is, you guys get so screwed on pay...and then i think about how much I, and other people in the office make and what our contribution is to the world...and in comparison those teachers are worth like 20 of me.

i mean, its all probably due to walking into my part of the office and hearing some shitty pop music being played through the shared speakers at an uncomfortably loud volume.

Teaching is a rough gig.
Kepp in mind that the standards for teaching in this country plummeted during the 90s, so theres a fair chance that theyre not necessarily "worth more" than you.
Doom up your workplace?

workplace doomed up through headphones...i cant get my music played through the speakers...they're all a bunch happy pop people. The spotify playlist of choice is actually called "happy pop"...WTF???

they think all the music i listen to is depressing. Once i thought i would suggest something that even they should like...so I got them to play ZZ Top...at first the older guy in the team (our manager) said, "Oh yeah, you mean that Legs song?"...I said no...Le Grange...but they couldn't find it on spotify, so anyway i sent them a Youtube link. A few minutes in, and one of the girls said, "this is really sad music"

it fucking baffles me what passes as good music to these fuckers.

Man I can't imagine packing up my life without having a job there. That would cause me untold amounts of anxiety.

One could always be a cute barrister. It's a low bar there.

Well also there's a non-zero likelihood that I get killed by terrorists and wind up as the object of an allegedly pithy Wittigenstien witticism, so at least I have that going for me. :thumb:

(dude I'm not Wittgenstein.)

(unless things are way worse than I'm perceiving and I've PMed myself from alt accounts. Which honestly could be true given the state of my mental hygiene.)
