Tore it all apart, gonna start from scratch (with a Moog minifooger ring mod and Badger Effects schism not pictured). Moved the MIDI capable pedals to a separate mini-board.

Hrrummm! Can someone make a decent, functionality demo of the raptio? Or trade it to me so I can make one?

I'll see what I can do. don't have the ability to do video but could put together something

Had it for about a week, not sure I'm sold on it yet. Hold mode is kinda cool still working out the glitch side, which is why I bought the thing.

What kind of demo are you looking for? Just want to make sure I'm covering some of what you'd like to see. I can try and track something over the weekend.

For me the magic with the glitch is the different mixes of dry and wet volumes. Definitely experiment with that. If you only end up liking the hold function, sell the Raptio and buy a Freeze or a Super Ego. Freeze is a lot of fun.

See, what I want to know is what it actually does and how it sounds doing it. While it's awesome as an image film to have someone playing a neon light with a bow I kinda could not discern what the pedal does. (And I still want it!)

I'd like to know what it sound like with a dirty signal and running into dirt. Ideal would be glitch mode into some octave fuzz. And is the hold mode like the one on the Freeze? Is the glitch always the same or is it like a random thingamajig? What happens if you play a pretty guitar line into it and glitch it out?

That's a couple of questions that come to mind. But something basic that simply shows what it does would be amazing!

Cool, I'll try and capture some of that over the weekend.

This is something I did about an hour after getting it. Jump to 1:05-ish for more raptio. It was done with wet at full, and almost no dry coming out, so when it's engaged it really engaged. If I am remembering correctly it was Sparkle Motion > TAFM > Rainbow Machine > AD4096 > Lunar Echo > Raptio > Distater Transport SR > RV3. Not sure if the SR was on, but I've been running the Raptio before it as the glitches into delay have been rad.

Thanks, man!
Then how about playing it at ca. 40-50% wet and holding the glitch while playing over it? What about the range of glitchyness? How long/short can the samples be? Some more questions, damn me.

Yeah, I have been playing it in a much more blended wet/dry zone this last week.
For speed, this setting was probably at about 30%. 0% being an almost constant click or tone 100% being the longest duration between stutter repeat. It gets a lot slower. Maybe a second or more between repeats? Faster is really fast. My gut says, it's probably not something any of us really need, but seriously fun as hell. I also feel like it's a hair over priced. Like $175 would feel more in line with the experience when compared to others. That being said, I know there's costs associated with shipping in from Japan, etc, and at the end of the day, it really is fun. Clean melodies with just a touch of glitch suddenly feel pretty fresh...

(I have the Overdrive here)

Mini is brighter and clearer and more tweakable, OD has a darker sound and more of a fuzziness to it. I hate to say transparent OD, but I replaced a Timmy with the mini and use it more as a boost right now with the OD for dirtier stuff.

They sound awesome together so I say get both.

The OD has that cool envelope/sag to it with the gain more than 1/2 way up. you can get the mini to sound close to that by turning the bias all the way down and the gain all the way up. not the same feel to it but a similar sound.

that sounds awesome. I haven't messed with the level controls yet, I def. have to sit down with it and get to know it better. Put it right on the board when it got here and have been trying to mess with it during jamming.

Agreed with Hyphen. It looks fun as butts, but it's def not nessisary unless you write a song for it/are Jonny Greenwood. Even then, my two second delay can do its job easy.
