I did what I had to do. The emotional retaliation was immediate and devastating.
Why does doing the right thing have to feel like such a motherfucker?

Dude is it you who has a crazy mom? All of this sounds very much like someone dealing with a relative with BPD.

Thanks, Dave.
Nobody asks to be ill, either, it just seems to be an inevitable part of the human condition.

I usually do that. You can take the no response as a no and move on. You should basically never expect one. I get lowballs on everything I try to sell all the time. It would be way too time consuming to reply (and I'd get tired of "No and duck you" or "do you want a blowie and a Mars bar as well?").

I don't do real low balls - just a bit less than what the person is asking for it, as a starting bid. I've sold a bunch of shit myself, and hate when people bid way under what a piece of gear is worth. I expect the person to reply with a counter offer, so that we can negotiate a price.

If we're talking Reverb, nothing pisses off people more than sending them back an offer for $5000 with the kindly worded message "take it or leave it." Been my go to for a while now.

Also, it's common for people to put a "fixed price" tag on their ad. If there isn't one, it usually means it's open for bidding.
