On another forum it just took me a week to internationally ship an expensive pedal, due to my being under the weather.
I didn't let 2 days pass without update and they were mostly apologetic for not having shipped. Bad timing inconveniencing me is annoying, my bad timing inconveniencing someone else is another thing entirely. Also when the buyer has good faith to send money via friend/fam/gift option. Makes me feel bad, because I've been there (we all have). Recently, in fact...my last pedal bought in 2016!
The anticipation was brutal :whoa: but the payoff delivers :joy:

i try to be really on top of this. usually i keep spare boxes and shipping materials around. sometimes i'm out of packing tape or some other such part and may put it off a bit. having a kid makes it weird. over holidays when i shipped a few things out there were some nightmare days where i would go to the post office and get stuck in line and get a text from the wife or whatever.

usually try to drop a line.

tough if people get burned because it discourages good honest people from making trades.

:(

dude IS in Bedford, TX though.
 Found him.
I'm on OSG (I usually just lurk there every couple of years) and just went through your thread.

FWIW, I tend not to trust people with less than 100 posts on B/S/T. :idk: In the future, it'd be good practice to only accept trades from regulars (of course, I only say that because I'm super paranoid about everything, anyway).
The dude only has ~40 posts and any good trader references are over a year old, so.

People. Fucking people. The kind who somehow thinks that if they win and you lose out you somehow need to be made fun of.

Fucking people. I'm opting out.

My power supply has two outputs with a little switch that lets you increase voltage on it.
Unknown to me, that switch was depressed right before I hooked up the brand new reverb I just built, which means it's nuked.

Edit: spent some time checking it over. To my luck, it handled the higher power just fine. I thought it was broken because I'd wired it backwards. :picard:

Yeah, social hierarchies are arbitrary. It's all an extension of ethical relativism. I find it important to let my actions show that I cannot be bribed with 'their' currency. If someone gets on your gob it's imperative to let them know you can't be bothered. I've been doing this thing if someone gets on my case at work or feels the need to elevate themself, I tell them "You obviously did not get the memo I'm having a great day today. Don't worry, I can send it again"

Or reference the lyrics to THE WHO's masterpiece HAPPY JACK. Regardless, I feel for you.

My children turned down watching the real Planet of the Apes so they could go watch some shitty cartoon they've seen a million times.

Have I failed as a parent?

On the upside, they thought Escape from New York was baller and will gleefully say that I'm the Duke of New York, and I'm A#1.

Still, I felt sadness when they walked away from Apes.

I fucking love those movies. They're all so brutal in their own way. The original is the iconic one, but ESCAPE is just so unrelenting. That ending...

Yeah they're allowed to like what they like even if it's shit. There's some stuff that doesn't drive me nuts, though, so I definitely privilege that. Jake and the Neverland Pirates is fun.

Idk if this is popular where you live or if you even live in Australia bUT this show, dot and the kangaroo, she's gotten into is tripped out...this kangaroo feeds a little girl roots and then can speak to animals but is told to not eat too much...or you'll know too much...and you'll be miserable aha
